(wrap up from pac vs larios)

back to the boxing talk there were 4 fights in the philippines tonight all filipino's against mexicans. 1 filipino veteran coming back from a 2 year retirement. one filipino prospect which they showed and 1 fight they partially showed to kill time before the main event.

the first fight that they showed which was really the second that night was a good one. this guy from the philippines had his 50th fight tonight after a 2 year retirement due to his fathers death. he showed alot of skills he was only about 5'5 with a 5 inch reach disadvantage fight a guy that was 5'8 with a 5 inch reach advantage. he slipped a gang of punches from this dude and was landing some bombs and clean shots. it was a real exciting fight but the reception was so bad in the begining it almost ruined it if it was'nt for the action. they finally got the reception fixed by the 4th or 5th round and it was more of the same except this time the mexican fighter was landing more. mostly to the body and a few to the head but penalosa the filipino fighter was slipping his punches and coming back with some clean hard shots. he won that fight unanimously. that was penalosa vs rojas.

second fight which was really the third. it was filipino prospect jimrex jaca against hector marquez. hector thought he could cheat by using his head to fight and stop it early but he did'nt understand the rules and it actually worked against him he got what he wanted with an early cut on jaca. this is were he fucked up the rules said if someone gets cut by a head butt the person without the cut loses a point. so he lost a point and continued to use his head along with his fist. jaca was working angles on him while marquez was coming straight in and getting hit with uppercuts and rights and lefts. it almost went the distance and jaca won that unanimous i think. they stopped it from the cut in the late rounds.

then on to the main event pacquiao vs larios. for the first 4 rounds it was even larios won the 1st and 3rd round and pac had the 2nd and 4th. they were feeling eachother out early but larios hit pac with a mean ass hook that had pacquiao in trouble on the ropes. they eased back the 5th round each landing a few blows but as the fight went on. pac was landing left hand leads ducking to the right and landing the left like hopkins would do ducking to the left and landing the right. the action picked up as pac would land more punches and flurries. larios was hard to hit with a big left by pac. he would bounce around and move so pac just hit him with flurries everytime larios tried to mount an attack. pac dropped larios in the 7th with a right hook left cross combo and brought him to his knees. i expected pac to end the fight early but it lasted all the way to the 12th. pac scored another knockdown with the same combo as the last but larios survived.

it was alot of good sportsmanship in the building the mexican fighters did'nt get boo'd like a filipino would in america and larios gave the philippines a salamat (thank you) and they all showed him luv for lasting the whole fight. he was in good condition especially for the tropical heat in the philippines. they faught in the same arena ali and frazier faught for the thrilla in manila. this time they had air conditioning though. they faught in the morning into the afternoon i think to beat the heat and make it for a fight night in america on the east and west coast.

the first real fight looked pretty good they showed 6th through 10 and it looked like good competition. but the second was alot of action and clean blows. the thrid fight was'nt that good marquez was'nt much competition.

and the main event was kinda hectic but larios could'nt keep pace with pacquiao. he lasted the whole fight but it was a landslide of punches for the pacman.

overall good night for the philippines. all their fighters won fair and square. no fixing in these fights. even though the main event had all three judges from different places in the world. the undercard the mexican fighters could'nt hold up. 2 of them gave a good fight except for hector marquez.

got to see other good filipino fighters known overseas but not necissarly in america.

1 of these new filipino fighters could'nt fight tonight because of a bad cold or fever. he's a young fighter singed to golden boy promotions. i can't wait to see him fight he's supposed to be really good.

anyway thats the cap off from pacquiao larios. good night for PI.

Yeah, I expect Pacquiao to whoop on Moralez again.
But that's based on the fact that I think Moralez is washed up.

If, and that's a big ass IF;
Moralez rejuvinates himself and comes back in good condition,
he's going to school Pacquiao like he did the first time....
