^ It is but c'mon bro, Baldomir sucks...plain and simple. Not shitting on the accomplishment, but seriously...I wouldn't consider Baldomir one of Floyd's better wins. Genaro, Corrales, Chavez...were all much more impressive victories, IMO.
When did I say Baldomir was fantastic? What Baldomir was, was the man at the time in the division and Floyd beat him without sweating. People are saying he hasn't done anything in the WW division but since about the 1890s, out of all WW's that ever laced up gloves there's been about 65-70 lineal champs in the division and Baldomir was one of them.

It's easy to knock it now just like it's easy to knock Pac's win over DLH now even though several people picked DLH to win before the fight. The fact is Floyd's name is on the lineage at WW and that's an accomplishment no matter who he took it from.

Yeah, I guess accomplishment wise, Floyd did (and still does if I'm not mistaken) hold the rights to the linear title at 147.

All I'm saying is that Baldomir is trash, and I still don't think Floyd's resume at 140 and up, as far as opposition faced and defeated, is that impressive.

Again, not knocking the guy...everything he did in the lower divisions was spectacular.

You can only fight who's there and ranked at that moment in time. When he beat Baldomir, Baldomir was the legit #1 in the division and before that he beat Zab Judah who was ranked 3rd in the division. Doesn't matter what the division became after or how unimpressive those fights seem to be now he beat the #3 & #1 ranked fighters in the division at the time back to back to become the man in the division.

.. and he doesn't hold lineage anymore it's technically stripped once you announce retirement.

read mayweather and mosley got a rematch clause. so if anything pac might have a fight with margarito, valero and someone else gotta find the article. words from arums mouth himself. don't know whats up with dates of pacs running of office and time after mayweather and mosley after their two fights but if anything a making of a major fight with pac and mayweather if mayweather wins will prolly will cancel out mosley if mosley loses pretty badly. but i don't think that will happen. mosley is a beast and i think he has a real good chance of beating him and i don't care if he does.

I think the problem a lot of people have with Floyd are since winning his titles at 147 and who he's faced since and the fact he left (or retired) when there was an undefeated Cotto and a very tough Margarito and a lot of other guys that were doing very good at the time and people wanted to see floyd in those fights.

Once he fights Mosley no one can really say shit anymore about that but honestly he hasn't fought a top welterweight in about 4 years. Floyd took a 2 year vacation while all the top welterweights were fighting eachother.

That's not what I'm talking about though. The question is what has he ever done above 140 .. I was just letting people know because apparently people didn't know, Tony included because he couldn't answer the question. I would've loved to see Floyd fight Cotto after he got his money fights with DLH/Hatton out of the way but to say the man hasn't done anything at the weight when he's a former lineal champion in the division is just silly.

I agree with you man 100%, he certainly did something at 147 by winning the title and the win over Zab & Sharmba Mitchell were pretty decent names on his resume as well.

And that's my whole love/hate thing with floyd, I love his talent and his past accomplishments but I hate a lot of his career decisions. He really has a chance though right now to erase a lot of those criticisms though, he said he has a 5 fight plan, well if he fights Mosley & Pac & a couple other solid names no one can really say shit about his career.

Watched the fight last night, Clottey was never hurt so why was he worried about getting knocked out? Pacman was getting caught with good shots, Clottey gave it away by not punching enough. Floyd would win a lopsided decision against pacman, Shane win by KO or TKO at 147.
