PORTLAND – A man doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire in downtown Portland Wednesday morning, authorities said.
When firefighters arrived, they said the man had significant burns on his body. He was transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told KGW they heard someone screaming "help" and looked up to see a man who was fully engulfed in flames and running down the street.
It happened just after 11 a.m., near the intersection of SW 12th and Yamhill Avenues.
Investigators have not released the man’s name or said why they believe he set himself ablaze.
