mainstream bay area rap like "tell me when to go", the hyphy shit or underground artists that dont wanna go mainstream such as nickatina, u.d.i. dush tray.?

i personally like the underground beats and music way better than the mainstream stuff they play on the radio and tv..

Most of what I bump would be considered "underground". Then again, rappers like Dru Down, 4-Tay, Spice 1, etc. had some commercial success back in the 90s. It's not a matter of principle though, it just happens that most mainstream rap nowadays is weak. A lot of of underground rap is garbage too though. If my favorite rappers could go mainstream without changing their music too much, I'd support em.

hyphy isnt undergroud, it is catered to mainstream while it may be not selling like mainstream it for mainstream listeners(the sound and beats)
