I'm not surprised the Niners are 2-0 just because the coaching changes they've made from the Nolan Era. They got rid of Martz and Nolan and replaced them with Jimmy Raye, and Singletary which is hell of alot better now since they have adjusted the way 49ers to play the way they are supposed to. Martz's pass happy offense wasn't meant for the Niners and Nolan fucked up for trusting Martz to have O Sullivan at QB. Hill is now the QB and is 9-3 as a starter (he should have been starting last year).

I'm confident in the 49ers this week seeing as how are team especially our defense is playing. Like everyone said this one is going to be a test to see how we do against a favored playoff team. The biggest concern for me is how our o-line will play against the Vikings front 4. As long as our o-line can play decent then Gore can handle the rest.

I must have missed that.

Before the season, the Eagles were favored to win the NFC. As of right now, the Saints are looking very, very strong and they have a better chance of representing the NFC than Minnesota does.
Minnesota would put a hurtin' on them Saints. What's going to happen when they play a team that can contain their offense? Discussion for another thread huh...

Im not surprised either. The 9ers won 5 outta the last 8 games last season, and could've won 6, if not for their goaline fuckup against the cards on monday night. Then they would've been in the playoffs. This season jimmy raye & coach singletary are on the same page, and the D is even better. Camp singletary got this team conditioned, even Gore couldn't be caught from behind like previous seasons. Sunday will gauge how good the 9ers & Vikings actually are.

i am surprised as a non-niner fan. the difference is singletary. he knows how to bring the best out of people and i think that is underrated in itself.

all predictions are based on the year before and teams simply fall off or the ball bounces the other way.

who is going to do what doesnt show until november/december/january.

definately positive for yall, but dont start getting wet yet.

We have won 7 of our last 9 games dating back to last season. We definitely have room for improvement, but for once at least it seems apparent that we are headed in the right direction.

Being the fact that I`m a realist, yes I am surprised. It`s not so much about the record, but of the state of play. I never saw this level of play coming so soon. Coach is the X factor.

But in regards to the record going down the stretch last season, let`s not over exaggerate. We didn`t beat 1 playoff bound team, so while the winning record is nice, it is a far cry from being impressive. The way we have played and beat the teams we`ve faced this year has been impressive.

If we continue this level and intensity, even if we end up losing this week, we could be like Miami last year who ended up 11-5 and winning their division. The measuring stick is going to be how competitive we play on the road with a team that some predictions had slated to be super bowl contenders.

Even if we get blown out, it won`t mean the season is lost, it`s just that we still have alot of work to do to get back, which is how I honestly feel anyway. Still too many question marks in the trenches, although they have held up so far. Plus, the last time the 49ers went to the SB, they were blown out at home to Philly 40-8. They smashed the rest of the way. Just saying.

What about the Niners? There's a team out there that can slow them down...
Of course there is. There always is for every team, every year. If there wasn`t, we would have more undefeated seasons, but we don`t.

The thing is, the 49ers play is catching these teams off guard. They are the underdog now. For years, teams could look at the schedule and mark the game with SF as a win. The way they play for coach, no team can just flat out say that. Not even the Vikings, even with how good they are. The 49ers just could possibly "shock the world" and knock them off on the road.

Point is, coach made this team become fighters. They no longer just lay down and stop fighting. Singletary has that old school fatherhood mentality going for him. That "win or lose, you better fight back or I`M going to beat your ass". Nobody wants to test Singletary. Ask Vernon Davis how that worked out for him last year. It`s no coincidence his attitude has changed this year, nor that of the entire team.
