I JUS WANNA KNO IF ANY OF YALL ARE SUPRISED BY THE NINERS BEIN 2-0 AND PLAYIN THE WAY THEY ARE SO FAR THIS YEAR?

AND BEFORE THIS THREAD GOES LEFT ILL VOICE MY OPINION, I THINK WE ALWAYS HAD A PRETTY STRONG TEAM EVEN LAST YEAR, I THOUGHT NOLAN HAD A SQUAD THAT WOULD BE ABOVE .500 AND POSSIBLY PLAYOFF BOUND BUT HIS STYLE OF COACHIN WASNT AGGRESSIVE ENOUGH. 2-0 AINT SHIT & ITS TO EARLY TO SAY THAT WE SHUD BE TALKED WITH THE MORE TALKED ABOUT TEAMS. I REALLY THINK THIS GAME VERSUS THE VIKES IS WHATS GONNA DEFINE THA NINERS YEAR CUZ IF WE GO OUT THERE AND LOOK STUPID OUR FIRST 2 WINS ARE GONNA LOOK LIKE FLUKES. OUR D IS TUFF THO AND THATS WHAT PEOPLE SAID WE WERE LACKIN

JUS MY 10 CENTS ON THE SEASON SO FAR >>> LIKE I BEEN SAYIN B4 THE YEAR STARTED I BELIEVE WE CAN GO 11-5 or 10-6

The Vikings are a good team, so a loss to them wouldn't mean our two wins were a fluke. If we look awful in the process, then we'll definitely know we have a lot of work to do. If we win, that doesn't mean we're going to cruise to the playoffs, either. This week can go either way, in my opinion. We have a good team and now we have great coaching, which goes a long way.

^ LOL YEA IT DOES FEEL GOOD TO BE 2-0 BUT IT FEELS ALOT BETTER BEATIN 2 TEAMS IN UR DIVISION. IF WE CAN HOLD AP TO LIKE 75 YARDS WE'LL WIN BRETT AINT THE SAME BRETT & OUR D IS PLAYIN AT A HIGH LEVEL. BUT LIKE I ASKED THE QEUSTION, I DONT THINK IM SURPRISED AT ALL THAT WE ARE 2-0 CUZ I ALWAYS BELIEVE THAT THE CARDINALS LAST SEASON WAS A FLUKE SEASON

As for being surprised we're 2-0, no, I'm not. I knew we had a pretty good team coming into this year just by what I saw in the second half of last year. We have pretty much the same team with a few upgrades from last season and Mike Singletary had already proven we can win with last year's group.

I'm not surprised. We ended the season strong last season(only team to end it 4-1 if I recall correctly) and i've believed in Singletary since day 1. Jed York is proving that he bleeds red and gold and wants to win badly. I don't think we are a top tier team yet, but we are definitely near the top of the middle tier teams.

btw I predict 10-6.

How could you not know this team was going to improve?? I hear fans on other teams calling in to KNBR wishing Singletary was their coach.

"THIS IS THE LAST TIME OUR SEASON ENDS IN DECEMBER" - JED YORK

I'm suprised by the 2-0 start especially winning in Arizona. If y'all lose to the Vikings it doesn't mean that the 2 previous wins were flukes. Minnesota is expected to represent the NFC in the SuperBowl this year. Even if the 49ers lose to the Vikings they can still go 10-6 because that'll only be one loss and they've proven that they're best team in their division by beating Seattle and Arizona. I'm very surprised they're 2-0.

the niners are def improved... and could be a playoff team... but remember a couple years ago when the niners started out 2-0 against division opponents... and a lot of people were saying they were improved... they ended up 5-11 I believe

I don't think that will happen this season... but niners fans shoudn't get too excited yet

I like Mike's confidence in his ability to get the best out of our defence, his approach to coaching and his demeanour. Another team would have used excuses that their 1st pick was not in camp, but the Niners are not letting it worry them and it shows on the field.

This team is getting better with him at the helm and will continue to improve week after week.

but remember a couple years ago when the niners started out 2-0 against division opponents... and a lot of people were saying they were improved.

This year the difference is the way the'yre playing. The players look like they're buying in to Singletary. This game will show them where they're at.

im surprised but not that much. i got convinced at the end of last season what we could do as a team and now we get to show it with a clean slate and coach mike leading the way. i knew after that tough AZ loss last season on monday night we had to win 2 weeks ago and the seahawks was a important game simply becuase everyone was riding their dicks about being the top nfc west team. now our true test comes on weather or not we can beat minnesota in their own place.

That was in 07, but we looked awful in those wins. We got lucky as hell against the Rams when they missed a close filed goal and that was the only reason we were 2-0 at that time. The opening game against the Cardinals was a terrible performance by both teams, but Arizona hadn't become the offense they are now at that time. Aside from the 2-0 starts, there are no similarities between the Niners of today and the Niners of 2007.

Im not surprised by the 2-0 start because I thought we had talent that was capable of beating those two teams last year but our coaching/play calling was not up to par...

Also, I don't think we should read too much into the 2-0 start...the defense has looked great, mike singletary has them playing tough and playing with confidence....but on the offensive side, I want to see more. I'm not too sure about the play calling, I think we need to include alittle more passing/creativity into the gameplan, so far the playcalling at times seems pretty dull...As far as the running game goes, obviously Gore had a huge day last sunday but other then the two big runs, we didn't do a whole lot more...

This sunday is gonna answer alot of questions and like Fatal Nyghtmare said, a loss wouldn't mean that the 2 wins were a fluke because minesota is a really good team and west coast teams rarely do good going to the east and playing an early game...I hope its a competitive game and we are atleast in it until the end...
