McNAIR TO RETIRE

Matt Ryan’s draft stock just went up a little bit.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Ravens quarterback Steve McNair has informed the team that he will retire. He told coach John Harbaugh and G.M. Ozzie Newsome of his decision last night.

The Ravens have since issued a release announcing the move, and scheduling a press conference for 1:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday.

The move leaves the Ravens with Kyle Boller and Troy Smith as the top two guys on the depth chart.

And while it’s good that the Ravens knew about McNair’s plans before the draft, it would have been better for the team to keep things quiet until after the draft, so that other teams wouldn’t suspect that the Ravens are hot for any of the quarterback prospects.

Unless that’s what the Ravens want teams to think.

yeah the raven will be looking at matt ryan this saturday, I'm not sold on him at all I watch him at bc and nothing impress me about him at all just another pocket passer playing in a weak divison like the acc

lmao at troy smith.....even though he looked servicable in what lil action he had.....but i dont think he will contribute as a starter at any point of his career.....just my opinion though

right now the buzz of the baltimore sport talk radio shows are saying that ryans is a best fix for the qb spot considering the it a new coaching staff coming in. But I don't agree with them shows troy showed some good pocket pesents in last two games of the season last year I just hope that they didn't give up on him, I coud see troy putting up numbers in cam cameron system like drew brees another small qb

yeah i remember bein pissed when bledsoe went out. i was all like there goes our season but hey i was completely wrong. after brady nothing that players do will really suprise me that much anymore
