Ok, just hang with me on this. I don't beleive it myself. And I know I'll get a bunch of crap from folks on here for even bringin it up. I know some people from around the Bay and I know this Crestsider who I was kickin it with the other day and he (beleive it or not) was talkin about Mac Dre gettin signed to Aftermath Records. He was totally serious 'bout it too.

Yes, Aftermath Records. I'm not kidding. I don't beleive it and questioned it and brushed it off like nothin. But this guy knows some shit about shit - certain shit that no one else but a certain few would know.

I figured I'd bring it up to see what my folks on BART would have to say about it. Like I said, I think it's ABSOLUTE (yes, all caps) BULLSHIT.

This's gotta be some dumbasss rumor (Like, say, that cockfighting rumor). But it's funny - cause a few months ago, I heard some other rap cats talkin about the same thing. Hmm.

But like PSD said, "that's some bull-ass-shit".

Well, maybe (who knows?), but I kind of doubt it, because MD's the kind of guy who likes to put out several CDs a year on his Thizz label (i.e. solos, comps, other people's records, etc), and I don't see Dr. Dre letting MD do that...

My feeling is that Dreezy would end up on the shelf w/ Rakim, Hitman (not the RBL guy--the Hitman from Dr. Dre's 2001 CD) and Ice Cube (Cube STILL hasn't actually signed a contract per se w/ Aftermath yet! LOL)! We'd keep getting bullshit teasers about a new CD coming out from MD w/ Dr. Dre "producing", and then it'd just keep getting pushed back and pushed back again and again, until you'd read an announcement saying "Mac Dre has left Aftermath due to 'creative differences.'" LMFAO!

So, maybe, but I doubt it. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
PEACE!

@Al Koholik and STS - hahah, same shit i was thinkin. We'd finally be able to listen to an album straight through without havin to clown around with the mids and lows on the deck just to hear it right.

I'll tell you one thing though, If MD spit on "Can't Make A Hoe A Housewife" beat, there would be enldless lyrical possibilities. Euugghhhh!

Sav, I'm sure MD could care less about not droppin' more then 1 album a year if he was signed to Aftermath...

Maybe so...IF Aftermath could actually get MD an actual hit or two to guarantee good sales for a solo CD, maybe MD would be cool w/ that, I don't know...it depends on how ambitious MD is as a person and whether or not he'd WANT to go that route...

But again, the dilemna is that the CD would have to actually COME OUT...and there's no guarantee that it would, considering Aftermath's recent track record (i.e., Rakim, Hitman from Dre's 2001, Ice Cube, King Tee's THY KINGDOM COME, which Dre pulled from release after THE SOURCE gave it a less-than-praiseworthy review, although Frisco Street Show sold it last year).

We'll have to see what happens in the months to come...

PEACE!

man the world would embrace Dre like no other. if the Dr. would recognize that he would make bank. Imagine Mac Dre on TRL or the Basement. Man cats would trip out on him, but at the same time love it. Either way it would be coo cause i still like Thizz releases, but if it was a Dre beat he was rippin up....oh shit!

Man, I live out here in Sac, and I've seen the guy probably a dozen times in public at all types of different places - he was fitted each time. He aint no broke motherfucker.

Plus, sometimes I go out in public lookin bummy when I'm just chillin not worryin bout anything.
