what we don't need to see is hella people trying to profit off of this. any tribute should go towards something he would have wanted PERIOD

If there is any tributes it has to be official and coordinated with Thizz. Kilo, his mom Wanda, Coolio, Miami, etc.

But like I said, it would be hard to do because of egos and money issues.

it's pretty sad when it comes to money issues for a tribute......
a gift is a gift, vocally, phisically finacially emotionally etc.
people who know him or had closer ties ,(you would think) would have no problem doing this becuase they loved the man for who he was outside of buisness. if the money thing becomes a problem on making something like this happen i'd almost turn my back on this penny pinchin game....i grew up listening to mac dre for years, loved everything he did, he was a great artist, entertainer and from the time i met him a good person...i hope he is beeter off where ever he went. i hope a benifit in his honor can go on, i f can be anyway part of making this happen i'm not hard to get ahold of.peace everyone.

RIP

I think we have a perfect opportunity to show that the bay can come together and put asside egos, money, and petty shit that goes along with rap music...

B12 was right on with it defiently should be organized and ran with people who have the right to do it..

B12......maybe you should get the ball rollin....you go way back....

I agree with B-12 ... a comp would be in order, artist that are willing to drop a verse in donation.. all proceeds would go to MOM...

I dont think a comp is the right answer, there is no shortage for Mac Dre product out there. The things we got planeed involve a tour, and a calendar.

Check out the other post..In the works for Dre.

Peace.

who would benefit from a tour?
Calenders are good for a year...music lasts a lifetime....

The idea is just that...an idea....and a good one for that!
Reality is that it would probablly NEVER happen!

THAT IS SAD!

that shit sounds good, have the cats right now thats doin shit in nor cal re-do some classic Mac Dre shit....in my oppinion that shit should happen.alotta cats grew up on dre, cats thats rappin right now grew up on Dre.hes the biggest thing out here.a tour and a calenders good but a cover album would be the shit, and thats a lot of proceeds would go to his family (wich they should)....and fuck the ego trips.if a mothafucka dont wana see it,theres alotta other mothafuckas thats doin it right now that would be honord to re-do a classic cut....
