yeah mac dre is a fucking genius i first heard him on illegal business by mac mall on the song pimp shit. he was still in the pen then. but i always fucked wit mall so i would always hear dre then i got the rompilation and mind of a pimp heart of a gangsta. this dude certainly went through a transition similar to tupacs makaveli era because to me the thizzed out dre was a far better wordsmith than his earlier work. its like he keeps you in suspense not knowing what he would say next it was a dope mixture of sav, pimp, silly it was like he was a walking cartoon character with the dancing and shit. definatley very marketable and because of him being a solely independent entity he was surely a threat to the hip hop industry. listening to his latter work is truly a joy. the nigga got a voive similar to rick james and he was a rock star foreal and tupac was like the only other nigga with a certified rock star status. i feel kinda bad that hyphy got recognition but no dre to be the figurehead. it sucks because he was much better that lil jon in terms of charisma but lil jon went far with crunk i would have loved to see the world have to deal with dre and hyphy. he woulda fucked them up because they never seen a nigga with so much game street cred charisma. man rest in peace mac dre.

DRE definetley changed when he got out of jail. Old dre was great ( khayree helped a lot) I enjoyed the fact that he told stories in his raps i.e. "BACK TO MY MISSION" and "LIVIN THAT LIFE" BEST DRE SONGS IN MY OPINOn. He's delivery was untouchable and lyrics where unmatched. "Now DRE" HAD A differ outlook on life he was all about Happiness living life enjoying it and you got to respect that you can't blame a man to have that outlook after 5 in the pen. Imo dre enjoyed making people smile rather make you bob ya head and he was genious at doing so. Genie of tha lamp is my fav cd his versitility is evident and profound he will contine to make all of us smile and influence many.... to answer the topic who cares just give me some dre to fuckin knock...T.I.P

There is no possible way you could ever compare e40 to mac dre. Mac dre was smart, creative, orginal, and lyrical. E40 sounds like he uses a thesaurus. he has made himself a mainstream rapper which is the biggest mistake any rapper could make. He might as well be makin beats with 50 cent. Mac dre cared about what he represented and cared about his music, one year ago you could'nt find 3 out of 5 people that had even heard of mac dre because he stuck to underground rap, the only reason he is blowin up now... years after his death... is because of E40 a hypocritical MAINSTREAM rapper, and today looking at rappers like 50 cent and mike jones you could never compare a mainstream rapper with a underground rapper. So its definatly mac dre NOT E40! And to stick to the thread i think that yesturday mac dre was better then today mac dre, because the beat on the tracks were a lot more smooth somethin you could lay back and just kick it to
