Mac Dre-Thizzle Washington
1. Intro- Yuk talking about Dre.
2. Monday Thru Sunday-Mac Dre starts out with giving shouts to a bunch of cities and towns. Then he spits some saucy shit, though what he talks about switches back and forth. The lyrics seem to continue to get better as the song goes on. The beat to the song is weird, I really don’t know what to think of it. Its kind of comical and reminds me a little of Bleezies and Heem. Overall I wasn’t really feeling this one. 5.5/10
3. Stuart Littles-A deep baseline highlights the beat throughout the songs. A guitar in the backround adds to the great overall sound of the beat. Mac Dre spits hard, but is interrupted by a phone call in the middle of the song by a bitch. Dre cuts off his flow and lets the beat ride out for about a minute, definitely a good idea. Good song but short. 8/10
4. Help Me- Mac Dre spits to another guitar and base oriented beat. “Most of my roadies is Ex-cons and parolees, drink heem and OD role twamps in goldies,” Dre starts, and continues to flow about an outlaw like life. He also talks a lot about the pen. Another dude flows too, I don’t have a tracklisting so I don’t know who it is but it sounds like Sleep Dank maybe? Anyways he comes tight too. And the Jacka adds a thugged out Mobfiga/Outlaw style verse to top it off. Overall a great track, it sounds like they spent some time on this one. 10/10
5. The Mac Named Dre- This track starts out with a bunch of snippets blurred together. Mac Dre comes in and spits that hard style flow (though the lyrics are nothing special) like on “What Cha Like,” but the beat to me was kinda suspect. 6/10
6. Damn I used to know that- An interlude. Kinda stupid but a little funny.
7. Boss Tycoon feat. Yumouth- “Im not the Mad Rapper Im the Rapper Gone Bad.” Dre spits a tight verse on this one. Yukmouth comes too tight, this one is something vicious and probably the best on the album. The beat is completely mobbed out and the chorus is also cool. 10/10
8. 4 Myself- The beat to this song is a little too funky for me. I’m not really feeling it all that much. Dubee comes in a rips one; to me he appears to have improved greatly in the last few years. Mac Dre comes in and explains that he’s a pimp which we all know. Dre and Dubee come cool but the R&B brige in the middle of the song and the chorus fuck up the song. 5.5/10
9. Cutthoat- The song starts out with a baseline beat. Dre comes in as the beat becomes a little more unique dissin’ someone I can’t tell who. Dubee adds a little diversity to the song with a decent rap, and PSD comes vicious. The chorus is very annoying and definitely could use some work. It’s hard to bump a song with a bad chorus. 6/10
10. Han Solo- Mac Dre spits his signature “saucy” flow. He does a pretty good job of spitting on this one, nothing great lyrically though. Another weak chorus hear. Overall an ok song. 6/10
11. Rap Life-The beat to this song is very annoying; as a matter of fact it’s the only beat I heard on the CD that I can actually say “Sucks.” Sleep Dank shows up on this one and spits an above average flow, Dre average, a little funny. 4/10
12. Thizzle Dance- Mac Dre is a fool for this one! The beat is a little goofy again, but Dre makes up with some tight verses. The other guy who flows outraps Dre though in my opinion. The chorus is funny but also real repetitive and could be greatly improved. 7/10
13. Soom Lama- This beat is real simple. An interlude. Little bit funny, but skip.
14. Big Breaded feat. Luni Coleone- Luni spits a tight verse to a tight beat. Mac Dre spits a tight one too but gets a little bit outrapped. Production is very basic and lacks base, but overall is a good track. 8.5/10
15. Dalalalala Lots of Paper- Another goofy ass beat. It fits the album cover. Dre really comes kinda tight (other dudes comes average) but its tough to listen to him over this beat and weak chorus. 5/10
16. Miss U- This song is another collection of rhymes with no real topic of discussion. The chorus implements the idea that its about a bitch who is on his jock and misses him. The beat is below average. 5/10
Bonus Track: Hidden at the end of track 16 Dre spits with one of the Mob Figaz (Ridah?) and someone else. The beat isn’t very good and the verses are a tad above average. 5.5/10
Mac Dre has some spitters on here, he also continues to produce subpar material. Another mediocre album from the king of mackin’.
Overall: 6.5/10
Album feel (what I feel not statistically): 6/10
