In a statement obtained by MTV News, Kansas City writer Alonzo Washington announced that he planned to hold a press conference in front of the Downtown Kansas City Police Department. Washington was asked by an anonymous male informant on December 8 to be introduced to the police department and, if his unspecified "terms and conditions" are met, the informant will reveal the name of a new person who he believes killed Mac Dre. After Mac Dre's murder, Washington campaigned for an anti-snitching "Hip to Give Tips" movement via flyers and writing articles. It unfortunately didn't prevent what would later be perceived as a retaliatory killing when Kansas City rapper Fat Tone (Anthony Watkins) was murdered in Las Vegas in 2005. (Rapfix)

I, as I'm sure a lot of people would like to see this case solved & bring somewhat of a closure to Mac Dre's family & close friends.

BUT!!!! If it does get solved due to this "informant" will he (the informant) be respected by Mac Dre's friends & fans? Now that this has hit home, is there a fine line between doing the right thing & a snitch?

LOL! I can already see how this thread is going. Either way you answer to this your gonna look bad HAHAHAHA!!!!! Sad to see so much praise to the Legendary Mac Dre in here, yet it's a joke to some when it comes to solving his murder.

If the dude who pulled the trigger is still out running around free, the streets ain't done shit.

WELL...TONE ALWAYS DID TELL ME HE DIDNT KILL MAC DRE AND PEOPLE WERE BLOWING IT OUT OF PROPORTION ON THE INTERNET. A LOT OF RAPPERS WHO ARE RESTING IN PEACE HAVE MYSTERIOUS DEATHS AND ARE UNSOLVED. I'D BE HAPPY 2 KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS ONE.

It'd be nice for the family to have some closure. After all, it has been 7 years. However, if there is an informant, that'd be considered SNITCHING, would it not? Seems to be SNITCHING in every other similar scenario.

I was always curious of the motive... like was it wrong place wrong time for Dre, or was it a hit on him.
