Guess Kobe ain't playing in the All Star game.

I'm at home watching ESPN and they're making a big deal about this pinky ligament. Like the FO wants him to get the surgery, and going public with the info will somehow put pressure on Kobe to get it done.

I was half watching, and on the computer when ESPN was interviewing Kobe. He was like, "I enjoy playing in these games, but my ultimate responsibility is to my team and the Lakers organization" (paraphrased).

Thought he was talking about the game itself.

EDIT: yeah, just checked on my Laker forum. Kobe's in.

Despite protests by the Lakers and Kobe Bryant, NBA officials insisted that he remain in the lineup for Sunday's All-Star game, which Bryant said he would do.

According to NBA policy, any selectee who plays in his team's last game -- as Bryant did, scoring 29 points in Wednesday's win in Minnesota -- has to play in the All-Star game or sit out his team's next game.
