not to be negative, but read books on design and look at things you're interested in doing and try to mimic that.... the program you use depends on the job you're doing, photoshop is good for raster images, not that great for vector. Illustrator is good for vector, but wont do raster. If you're going to do logos and most ads without photos in them you'd want to spend your time using a vector based program, or even a page layout program (QuarkXPress, InDesign, or even PageMaker) people always assume Photoshop is the does all program. Also the program is only as good as the person using it, the old saying "garbage in garbage out" fits here too, if you're trying to use some pictures off the net to print at poster size you'll be in for a great surprise when it comes outta the printer....

sounds great, with all the different programs. i'm looking basically just doing graphics like i see in the graphic design section. cd covers and all that good stuff. lots a people tell to get adobe and i d'l'd a trial version cause CMC is suppose to be sending me the full version on cd. but i'm looking to do cd covers and logos like what you would see in the graphic design. but thanx for the ideas, and i guess i'll have to try each one to see what ones i like and fits and suits my needs.
