I got over 21,000 friends and usually get no less then 1,000 plays a day and I recieve comments and private messages and requests everyday I got a good amount of traffic and feedback(without buying services) thats damn good and to the fact I dont even be on that page like I should be. so its already hard for me to keep up with all the private messaging and comments i get. so its annoying when I get spam mail or comments by some inspiring artists trying to come up too just spamming. thats not cool in my eyes I look at it like that artists is trying to just take advantage of the page for his own purposes only(not all artists do that but the annoying ones). See what Im saying? Some dont even acknowledge you they just use the bots for messaging and be like "your music hot checkout my new song im the best in the city, im hot and ready to blow up, etc" with some big ass album cover or banner at the bottom unporpotioning the page out. Im not trying to have my cake and eat it too(like posted said above) but why should I worry about cats who not worried bout me and just themselves, I got love for all the real artists who take time out to acknowledge people(bc thats what being a artist is about interacting and helping others) not the selfish ones.


When you get more friends and feedback then what you got right now you will see/understand where im coming from. many people agree with me too about the band thing. imo its not about being just heard no more its about getting some kind money off it. Bc most people not gonna listen to a artist music or accept them on myspace to begin with unless they see something marketable(looks) that attracts them to you then they give you a chance and if they like what they hear they fucking with you.

I will add a artist or band I dont know that leaves me a message introducing theyselves and etc. Or if I knew the artist, I always accept any rappers/producers that posts on the siccness bc I know they cool. I mightve worded my first reply a lil wrong I shouldve said I only add artist that are serious, and networking they music and not on there just to spam bc imo theres a lil difference between promoting and spaming..

I agree with EDJ. We as musicians should not do something to hinder ourselves from networking with other musicians. I let artists come to my page and promote because I know how hard it is to reach the public so why should I not let them use my forum. If they wack my fans aint gone f*ck wit them if they hot it's gone make me look at myself and make sure I'm hotter. But on the other side of things the page is his so he has all rights to do as he pleases.

IMO 95% of the time you get a band request, it aint cuz they're tryin to network, they just wanna rack up a bunch of friends, more people for their bots

i dont see the big deal behind this lol - if you're tryin to network, you go to add a musician, and they dont accept band requests - you send em a message and say whats up - they add you

that right there is a fuck up on myspaces part - i made my away message ative awhile ago when i left town one week, and now, even after i check that shit in the settings to turn it off, it still wont let folx send me messages, its some weird shit

As a fan, and NOT a producer/performer. I more than likely will NEVER check out a spam comment message in someones profile. If your cool with another group/artist, then promote them on your page where us "normal people" will check them out, not in the comment box at the bottom. Too many pages are saturated with useless, non assosciated garbage that it ruins it for the truly talented. Just my .02.
