^ thats why im prolly grabbing a mini, i can throw it in a bookbag easily or something, bring it on the plane wo it lugging a heavier laptop in a over the shoulder bag, or hold it in my hand you know

plus i got this iphone so i want something compatable with the shit, i had a bigger laptop and that shit was just too lunky. just like the old ps2's before the slims.

edit: as far as your desktop you should just back up your important shit on a few discs, get a entirely clean harddrive, run a new windows on it, get more memory, a graphics card, a new hd monitor, and your set..your computer will be new just in the same box.

or you could just try reformatting if you dont need a higher quality.....which works better than youd think..anytime i reformat my computer acts brand new

Damn...1500?? Thats a shit ton for a PC these days. If you know someoen who can build em, go through them. You'll save money.
That's not necessarily true anymore. If you go to Best Buy, they got some desktops with nice specs for around $300-$400 (monitor not included, of course). When you go to build one that is comparable to the specs of these desktops, the motherboard is going to run you around $150, the tower can be up to $50 or more depending on your preference, 3 GB of RAM will be around $70, DVD/CD burner at least $50, a CPU can be anywhere from $120-$300, Hard Drives can be had for around $50-$100 and a graphics card is going to run around $100 (for a cheap one). That's anywhere from $650-$800. You can get all that shit here for $370:

I'm not saying Compaq is a great brand of computer, but it's good for the price. So unless you know somebody who can hook you up with everything you need to build a comparable computer at a low price, you might be better off going to Best Buy and checking what they have to offer.

Personally, I build all my computers, but I prefer certain brands of components because I feel they are of better quality. If I was looking for the cheaper route, I'd just go buy one from Best Buy.

You can pick up a laptop for around 3-400 if your timing is right. Walmart had some a while back for 298.
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Wal-Mart-Laptop-Compaq-Presario-298,8331.html

I picked up an acer full size laptop for 299.99 at office max during back to school weekend. With the thanksgiving rush coming up in november I would expect walmart to start flipping a few of the 300.00 full size laptops.

Just depends on how long you want to hold out for a good deal. The acer I got for 299 has a 15" screen and a dvd burner. Windows vista was it's only flaw.

yo SAV to keep it real the way to go is a laptop, and buy an external monitor so u can connect it. that way u got both options. I bought a MacBook Pro for about 1700....and i bought a good 21 inch HD monitor for under 200 (HP brand)..... so i got a desktop and when i want to, a laptop. (of course u gotta buy a keyboard and mouse to use it while the laptop is closed, or u can just keep it open and have 2 screens... trust me its the way to go. the MacBook Pros are real cheap right now especially the 13" ones.... if u interested in this setup lemme know and i will post some links on some deals..
