Selling a million fucking records in one+ week is impressive these days - i dont care if its a country album. you gotta tip the hat to that.
album is good. to me it is not even close to C3. 3 songs (4 if you count she will) dropped already. wish those were replaced with new tracks. im diggin The Red album a lot more than this one. Shit, maybe even WTT more. Maybe I gotta soak this in more.
Regardless - props to Wayne and his team for pushing a milli. Just imagine if people didnt DL anymore. How many copies would he of sold?
Just like other industry artists like Lady Gaga, Fergie, BEP, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Kanye, Jay-Z etc...... Popularity sells over anything else!!! 4 million "zombie" fans cant be wrong rite???

Birdman On Weezy's Sales; Denies Buying Copies
After news broke that Lil Wayne had once again sold over a million copies during the album's first week in stores, Cash Money's bossman Birdman appeared on the Sway's radio show on Shade45. Birdman talks to Sway about Weezy's sales and denies buying any copies himself.
”That really don’t make no sense. Why would we do that? I press and distribute em. Ain’t no need for me to buy em, that’s hustling backwards; we ain’t in it for that. I ain’t ever been a part of that type of scheme to be buying records. We’re real about what we do, we work hard every day at it, and we work for the people. That’s what we do music for, for people. And we appreciate the love they give us back. But no such thing as me buying no CDs, I wouldn’t even play it like that.” (Birdman)

He needs to quit bullshittin'. Record labels have been doin' this for years, and the practice hasn't gone anywhere. He wants to know why they would do it? Well, lets see... When you "sell a million copies" you garner more attention these days, because the market is shit. People don't buy cds.
