I think it was summer of 2001, right before 9/11 and all that shit. I had moved with my mom's to Lee's Summit (by Lakewood...Woods Chapel Rd, that area). I met a kid down the street who listened to older, more popular Tech songs (Mitch Bade, Now It's On, PR2K, etc) and who told me that Tech's "manager" or somebody who worked with him at least lived in our neighborhood (Chapel Oaks).
So I tell him he's full of shit, only to find out that Tech came up to Chapel Oaks all the time. So when Anghellic was released (the first one, not Reparation), me and him went over to that manager dude's house (I can't even remember his name now) and lo and behold, Tech was there with all kinds of promo shit and some other people involved in the crew at that time (including this big white dude they called 747, Grant Rice, those guys). We got some signed Anghellic posters (the ones with the barcode cross and the NNUTTHOWZE numbers under it), and he did the quick verse from It's Alive: "nobody ever wanted me rappin' / but I knew within me I could make it happen..."
Was some badass shit, ever since then I've been a huge fan. So where did ya'll first hear his music?
