i recently posted a debate on another board, now most of the people there use fruityloops and say that they can actually hang with any hardware out there, now mind you that we arent talking skill here, its all functionality, user interface, quality, and ect ect.... so i will ask anyone to state their case as to why one is better then the other, so if you make beats on fl or you own gear what is better and why, i have used fruityloops for years and i have made the switch to real gear so i know both worlds, so yes you can say that i was one of the many that spent the $99.00 to buy fruityloops to become the next dre but ended up spending many thousands more to just be myself on a more professional level. so please drop your feedback, facts, opinions, what have you not.

i personally am hardware all the way, when it comes to my sounds.

I HAVE USED FRUITY LOOPS FOR OVER 3 YEARS & CAN RIGHTFULLY SAY THAT I HAVE MASTERED IT.

I HAVE ALSO USED: TRITON, MOTIFF, REASON, CUBASE, MP7
& AM PROUD TO SAY I AM SKILLED IN THOSE AREAS ALSO.

HERE ARE MY OPINIONS:

FL:

PROS: VERY EASY TO USE, LESS COMPLICATED. I CAN CREATE A BANGIN ASS BEAT IN MINUTES. SAMPLES ARE EASY TO REACH.

CONS: THE BEATS BECOME TOO PRECISE, I LIKE A LITTLE HUMAN ERROR EVERY SO OFTEN, ADDS A LITTLE BIT OF CHARACTER TO THE BEAT. (I'M TALKIN SHIT YOU CAN'T EVEN NOTICE). EVERY BEAT I HAVE MADE ON IT SOUNDS A LIL DRY ( BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE IT ) COMPARED TO TRITON, OR MOTIFF.

HARDWARE:

PROS: I LIKE USING MY HANDS, EVEN IF IT'S PUSHIN BUTTONS. (ADVANTAGE TO THE MOUSE). DEPENDING ON THE HARDWARE, YOU CAN TWEAK SHIT OUT BETTER. THE SOUND IS A LOT WARMER.
HUMAN ERROR.

CONS: SOME HARDWARE GETS VERY COMPLICATED. SEARCHING THROUGH SAMPLES ISN'T AS EASILY DONE. MORE STEPS INVLOVED TO PRODUCE THE FINAL PRODUCT.

its easy to create human error on fruity loops tho.... just adjust the timing on each note... (double click note in piano roll, shift start time just a little)... actually a beg to differ to those who make fruity loops seem like its worthless... if you use it as just a sequencer for samples, and use effects u can make your music sound real good, mainstream quality... "right there" by chingy was made usig fruity loops...
