If youre doin your shoots outdoors where you have alot of room to work with then it would be a good lens....but damn 6 racks....you could probly just be cool wit a wide-angle for your stocks and a 50mm for your portraits....

18-70mm f3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens

that's the lens that come with it, u think the 55mm will improve upon that?

also the wide angle is just to capture the stock area better? or improve quality?

wow no clue.google these things.
18-70 just means it goes from 18mm up to 70mm. so an 18-55 goes to 55.
a 50mm lens is the best for portraits.a 10 0r 12mm lens is perfect to get some crazy wide angle shots.the 70-200mm doesnt make sense for what you do.and why the fuck would you spend $6000 on a lens you could get for under $1000?i got my 70-300 for like $300
