Uhh yes, people want to be associated with and represented by winners. The impact of a loss wouldn't be felt immediately, but would have a gradual effect over time. This would hold especially true if his team were to continue to lose.
U dont believe what you just wrote,do you?

Him losing the dunk contest...will that make him NOT score 30-40 points a game a night? Will he not make spectacular plays?Make sweet ass passes?Continue to make the Cavs a contedning team?

Cmon guy...a dunk contest...aint shit...ESPECIALLY these days...why you ask?Cus every dunk has been done to death!Theres very little room for anything new...its all re-done and recycled...and ALOT of people have lost interest in the pre-All Star game festivities...i could google the numbers...but i dont care that much...but look it up dukes...not many people give a shit anymore...

It wouldnt hurt him...whether he participates in it or not...it makes NO difference...and doesnt even need to even be discussed on here...

^we need to change it this year. do it like they do it on the and1 street tour. get a pole and measure their vertical leap as they slam that fucker in. get some objects out there. gets someone to dunk over a vehicle. wheres the creativity?nba? fuck injuries. put up some money prize. get the best dunkers and let them doo whatever they want. giving them limited dunks and a basketball and tell them to go out there be creative is just total BS. Everythings been done. Props... we need props... these guys are athletes. they should be able to dunk over anything.

The owners of these teams aren't about to let their franchise players (who they've invested millions in) go out there and jump over a Suburban to win a fucking contest.

Who are these cats supposed to be, Hook Mitchell? lol

JRich lost in the dunk contest, it's not hurting his game or reputation !!! he's still a 2 time winner.......coulda been 3rd time, but he missed........oh well.......it happens !!!

if you put Vince, LeBron, JRich, Kobe, T-Mac and say $100,000 (chump change) NO ONE walks out a loser.......the NBA will be the biggest winner !!!!

no one even remembers Freddy Jones won it lol !!!!!!

You must not have seen the Mcdonald's High School All American dunk contest.
YOU must have not seen the contest. Sure, he jumped high...but nothing he did was great...and it sure wouldn't win an NBA contest.
