Source: Larry Johnson working out with Bengals

Posted: November 16th, 2009 | Steve Wyche | Tags: Brian Westbrook, Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals, Julius Jones, Kansas City Chiefs, Larry Johnson, Michael Turner

Free agent running back Larry Johnson, who was recently released by Kansas City, is working out for the Cincinnati Bengals today and could be signed if he passes a physical and impresses team officials, a team source confirmed.

Johnson was released by the Chiefs after being suspended for posting inflammatory comments regarding coach Todd Haley on his Twitter account and using gay slurs on Twitter and the following day toward reporters. The Bengals’ move for Johnson comes a day after starting tailback Cedric Benson suffered a hip flexor in Cincinnati’s win over Pittsburgh.

Johnson, a Pro Bowler in 2005 and 2006 after rushing for more than 1,700 yards both years, figured to be in demand after a week in which several key running backs — Philadelphia’s Brian Westbrook, Seattle’s Julius Jones, Atlanta’s Michael Turner and Benson — were injured. Since he is a free agent, Johnson has the option where he could play.

Although a team likely would want to sign Johnson to a pro-rated minimum salary — which Johnson could be willing to accept since the Chiefs are paying his full $4.55 million salary — there could be somewhat of a bidding war since some teams need help at running back.

^^LOL still hurting from yesterdays loss i assume.
Not hurting, just being honest. The Steelers have dominated the bungles for so long now, that losing to them this season barely hurts. Just like that 2005 season when everyone thought they were dominant in our division. They were favored, because they won the Division that season. Pittsburgh put that ass woopin' on them when it counted.

Like I said before, there is still a lot of football left to be played. It makes me laugh to see everyone jump on that bungle bandwagon... GBR!

I saw Carson Palmer's knee get blown out in person. God favored me that day.

But yeah. Fuck the Bengals. And fuck Penn State. So fuck Larry Johnson.

My boy from Cincy called me after the game. I'm gonna punch him right in the mouth.

LJ will be better off no matter where he goes. KC has the worst offensive line in the NFL. He'd prolly even do better on the Lions.
Didnt stop Jammal Charles from havin a 100 yard game. The Chiefs offensive line is terrible, but thats the worse excuse I've heard. You cant blame the line for LJ having 358 yards and averaging 2.7 on 132 carries , then Charles (the backup) has 255 yards and averages 5.4 per carry on 47 carries and he actually scored, something larry johnson couldnt do. That shows who really puts forth an effort

All in all, Larry Johnson is a worthless arrogant woman abuser. Im glad he's gone and I hope he gets a severe concusion.

So winning the game after a cheap shot to a great quarterback is something to brag about?
