If you read what was said when Romeo was hired...he and Savage had a 4-5 year plan for turning the team around.
They want to do it through the draft and do it right. Not a quick fix for 1-2 years doing it through free agency. They want a contending team year after year. Not one that shows up for a year or two and then disappears...like the Raiders.

Ok... Romeo Crennel was hired for the 2005 season right? In his first season he went 6-10 and then last season he went 4-12. That's regression my friend. Going backwards. He got one more year and if your Browns don't improve his ass is gone get canned. In two season he's a combined 10-22. A fuckin' loser... so go ahead and keep talking shit about the Raiders. Ask me after next year. Romeo's first year Winslow didn't play and Braylon got hurt. Our starting Safety was also hurt...and Dilfer got benched for Frye. We went 6-10.

This year...Winslow led the league in TE receptions (3rd in yards)...Braylon had an OK year coming back less than a year after tearing his ACL (884 yards)...Our Safety, Sean Jones had a strong season...and our rookie Linebackers...mostly Wimbley, had a really good season (11 sacks). We went 4-12.
Record wise...it wasn't a good season, but I did see some progress.
We had a pretty tough schedule this year...and we played almost all of our games without our TOP 3 corners, and top DL (in a 3-4). Not to mention that we led the league with guys on IR. It's tough for anyone to win with injuries like that.
