Laid Off

I was a level 3 Process Technician working for a Manufacturing company we built 3-12 channel recievers and transceivers, I worked on various automated equiptment -Die attatch, wirebond, SMT etc... I jumped on the unemployment wheel but im not even making half of what I was at work I get severance (1 week for every year of work) they cut me a check for the last week of work (including 8 hours for the day I got laid off) and all my PTO (156 hours) so i'll be straight for now but shit my mortgage payment alone is more than what I get from unemployment

I didn't think that shit would happen to me but here I am. Just yesterday morning I thought i was getting bumped up to a better paying product because i always put up good numbers. I go to work, they move me over to that department, then they have a floorwide meeting hosted by some suit from minnisota. Basically telling us that damn near the whole office is getting laid off, no notice, straight out of the blue.

I'm just surprised they didn't keep me because i always put up numbers, they kept a few people that couldnt hold a flame to my skills. Fuck it they all got severe pay cuts, the whole office will probably be shut down in a couple of months and i already have an interview for Wells Fargo. As long as i have my unemployment and my GI bill I'll be straight. I think i'll be able to get another job relitivity fast, theres no shortage of collection jobs. they did us way dirty though, i never seen something like this happen at any place i ever worked.

i feel yall on this. i work for in retail and i just got written up today. i think ima get fired some day this week for not selling enough lol.

I hope your company hooked you up with a good severance package! Also, jump on that unemployment while you can and enjoy it. It's like a paid vacation, especially if you get max benefits from UI. You have paid taxes for the shit all these years, so now it's your turn to get a break and enjoy that money!

real fucken talk i got layed off 2 weeks ago, got medical and dental til september, imma get the most from unemployment a month, and imma do my taxes for this year and last year. hopefully i get a good amount back, plus the stimulus checks..

my unemployment got fucking denied just got the rejection letter today. The reason for it being rejected is "YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE BENEFITS UNDER CALIFORNIA UNEMPLOYMENT INURANCE CODE SECTION 1256 BEG 12/28/08 AND CONTINUING UNTIL YOU RETURN TO WORK AFTER THE DISQUALIFYING ACT AND EARN 1500 OR MORE IN BONA FIDE EMPLOYMENT AND YOU CONTACT THE ABOVE OFFICE TO REOPEN YOUR CLAIM.

SECTION 1256 PROVIDES-AN INDIVIDUAL IS DISQUALIFIED IF THE DEPARMENT FINDS HE VOLUNTARILY QUIT HIS MOST RECENT WORK OR WAS DISCHARGED FOR MISCONDUCT FROM HIS MOST RECENT WORK
