yeah, I never saw a fight stopped when someone was still on his feet. The referee usually waits til he drops first to make a decsion. Either that or its stopped due medical stoppage, but that is up to the doctor, not the ref especially since it was a matter of blood and not a broken bone.

I dont think they'll be setting up Kimbo v Antonio Silva anytime soon unless they want to expose themselves a frauds



he wasnt doing any damage with those strikes, almost like he was punching at 1% power. He didnt do enough to sell them in order for the ref to call it

Jason Day Vs. Alan Belcher on Serra/GSP 2 card was stopped while on it's feet as was the Franca/Fisher fight on a UFN.

There was a lot of bullshit with this event though. Thompson getting stood up while having side control was fucking ridiculous. Scott Smith not getting his full 5 minutes of recovery was bullshit and I'd bet the only reason they stopped that fight is because they were going to well over their time limit (which they did anyway.)

But if you're the ref and you're five feet away from the action then it's easy to see the difference.
