Adapted from George V Higgins’ novel Cogan’s Trade, the film finds Pitt as a hit man hired to track down and kill two low-level criminals (Scoot McNairy and Ben Mendelsohn) who made the mistake of robbing a mob poker game.
What transpires is much more than your typical crime thriller (this is from the man who made The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, after all)l, and boasts an eclectic cast including Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard.
