Brother J was in X-Clan. He's basically the centerpiece of the group, the lead emcee and there was a whole bunch of affiliates (including Professor X...RIP).

along with the likes of Jungle Brothers, Poor Righteous Teachers, etc. they spurred the AFrocentric, Red/Black/Green Black Nationalist rap to the forefront in the late 80's and early 90's.
