^^ I have one too, autographed too, somewhere in this damn house.

Sucks that Barry is the posterchild of the steroid era, people just hate because others who tried sucked or could not stay healthy (the ones on steroids)

Baseball knowledge on hitting and on all the pitchers on the league > steroids.

adjustments on 0-2, on different pitches, adjusting on the outfield accordingly to every batter, knowing where the ball would be hit before it was hit, steroids CAN'T* teach that and much more.

"he did without steroids too"

"if he wouldve took steroids and stayed healthy he wouldve had the homerun record."

"he did it clean"

barry was the shit before he ever touched a fucken steroid, hella tired of people always disrespecting barry! people never disrespect babe ruth like that so dont knock a legend like barry. my bad if i offended you didnt mean to mayn just kinda annoying hearing people bad mouth barry. just my two cents. i wont bring barry up in this thread anymore.

and by the way griffey was a beast! he was also one of my all time fav athletes.
that's a guilty conscience. nobody mentioned Barry Bonds. people were speaking on the entire steroid era in general. there have been hundreds if not thousands of players who have used during this era. Ken Griffey Jr. happens to be one of the best players of our era or any other for that matter and to this point there has never been even the slightest mention of his name with a link to anything illegal. Bonds fans got are too sensitive. don't get all defensive, Bonds was a great player and I got nothing against him, but this was not about him.

would you say McGwire is also a steroid era posterchild along with Bonds? But look how McGwire is a hitting coach and Bonds is still whining. Bonds built his reputation as a dick head through the media so nobody even wants to talk to him now...

Shit livin in this city I can say that there is NOBODY that can touch what griffey has done for us. He built Safeco and saved us from being the Tampa Bay Mariners. Still have the 89 donruss rated rookie signed after third base coach Bob Diddier let me go in the clubhouse and see Griff as a little 9 year old. I will always remember him as the kid at the bottom of the pile after Edgars double. When i went to opening day last year, his first game back as a mariner, I got all choked up when they introduced him. There will never be someone who does what he did for sports in this city. He hit a home run in his first at bat as a Mariner and had a walkoff game winning hit for his last at bat as a mariner if I'm not mistaken. A big thankyou to the KID.

I memorized every lyric he spit in this song in junior high too. Ive posted it before fuck it here it goes again.

Thanks for these, Griffey Jr. and all the other shoes.

And your defensive play. Although that cant be too good for your knee. (And forget the knee, he broke his wrist on that catch). Knee problems would plague him eventually.

Griffey Jr. and Sr. are the only father-son tandem to play in the same outfield together. They were 19 and 39 years old. Also only father-son tandem to hit back to back hr's.

dam KID! thx for the memories!!!

And p.s. Jr was a way better all around MLB player then Bonds!
i normally agree wit cha scary, and i'm not a bonds fan anymore but in what way was jr. a better all around player than bonds? they both hit for average, hit homeruns and were gold glove winners...how was he better than bonds other than he wasn't a piece of cheating shit

well, jr has 1 more golden glove then bonds does in less years played.

Also you are right they are close to the same but like you just said yourself JR wasnt cheating...so if numbers are comparable 1 was cheating the other not...how is one NOT better overall?

I'm biased towards Bonds overall better than Griffey roids or not. But Griffey is definitely right there in 2nd and we are fortunate to have been able to seen both play.

Best in the AL = Griffey best in the NL = Bonds. How bout that?

Fuck an A-rod or a Manny Ramirez or a David Ortiz, BONDS+GRIFFEY = Greatest of our Era.
