I’m happy for Winslow…he’s grown up a lot in the last couple of years.

The Browns' travelling party for the 2008 Pro Bowl has grown again.

Quarterback Derek Anderson and tight end Kellen Winslow were named to the AFC Pro Bowl team Monday, becoming the fifth and sixth Browns headed to Honolulu.

The Browns haven't had that many Pro Bowl participants since 1995. They haven't had more then six since sending eight in 1988.

"We're excited the Browns will have such a presence at the Pro Bowl this year," Browns general manager Phil Savage said. "Kellen (Winslow) has overcome so much in the past two years and is a real catalyst for our team. Derek (Anderson) became the starter under difficult conditions after week one and led us to ten wins and a 7-0 home record. Both will grow from this experience in Hawaii."

Anderson completed 298-of-527 passes for 3,787 yards during 16 games and 15 starts in 2007. His 29 touchdowns fell one short of Brian Sipe's team record set in 1980. He threw 19 interceptions and finished the campaign with an 82.5 passer rating.

Winslow's outstanding 2007 season included 82 catches for career highs of 1,106 yards and 5 touchdowns. He and Braylon Edwards became just the ninth tight end/wide receiver duo in NFL history to each record over 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. Meanwhile, Winslow set a team record for receiving yards by a tight end, passing Hall of Fame member Ozzie Newsome.

Anderson and Winslow both were first alternates when the Pro Bowl teams were announced in December. Anderson will replace the Patriots' Tom Brady, while Winslow will replace Antonio Gates of the Chargers.

Anderson's first Pro Bowl selection comes at the completion of his first NFL season as a fulltime starter. He played in 5 games with 3 starts in '06 and didn't appear in a game during his rookie year of '05. He joined the league as a sixth-round pick by the Ravens in '05 and was claimed by the Browns via waivers on Sept. 21, 2005. He's the first Browns quarterback to be selected for the Pro Bowl since Bernie Kosar in 1988.

Winslow, meanwhile, played in his second full season in '07. In 2006, he tied a franchise record with 89 receptions. He played in just two games in 2004 and missed all of 2005 due to injuries. He was the Browns' sixth overall pick at the 2004 NFL Draft.

His father, Kellen Winslow Sr., played in five Pro Bowls during his Hall of Fame career with the Chargers. K2 becomes the first Browns tight end to play in the Pro Bowl since Newsome in 1986.

Last week, long snapper Ryan Pontbriand was chosen as the AFC's need player for the Pro Bowl by the Chargers' coaching staff. Edwards and kick returner Joshua Cribbs were initially chosen to the Pro Bowl, and rookie offensive tackle Joe Thomas was added to the AFC roster earlier this month.

Guard Eric Steinbach is the Browns' lone first alternate who was not eventually added to the Pro Bowl roster.

The 2008 Pro Bowl will be played Sunday, Feb. 10 at 4:30 p.m. EST and be broadcast live on FOX.
