Last night I was driving to In-and-out in Elk Grove off Bond Rd. around 12:30AM, I turned on the radio to 103.5 and they was playing hella song with cuss words and everything. Hella hip-hop shit, Wu-Tang, MF Doom type shit, RZA, just skippin thru hella songs and shit. Lettin like one verse play then skip to the next. It was krazy, I listened to it for like 30 mins then it switched back over.

Didn't anybody else catch this?

you can get the equipment easier now then you used to.

for the original bomb (CPR 100.1 FM), we had to get the equipment from canada.

serves them rooty poot suckas right. we showed them the format and they didnt stay true to the people. fuck a local show for 2 hours a week? get that shit crackin every night! there is too much fuckin talent here in sac for them to just hand pick a couple of tracks and artists to showcase. most of the cats up there know NOTHING about the local scene or the history of it.

I'm tellin' you, if sactownradio.com or any other stations like that decided to turn their shit up a notch, ksfm and kbmk would take a big loss listener wise.

let the kids and suburbanites have the mainstream radio. if we go hard enough, people will go looking for you where ever you are at.

when we first started the pirate station back in the day, we made enough noise that the people would call ksfm and tell them to watch out, there was a new station out there that is kickin yall's asses. we even made it a point to call them up live on air to ridicule them. because we were an illegal station, they paid us no mind. once revenue from the community started to roll in and advertisers jumped ship from them to us....that's when calls to the feds were made, but not before "representatives" from "investors" came to see us about starting a new station. We had a few meetings, listened to hours and hours of show tapes and watched video of our stations events. They concluded that there was indeed a market for an "urban oriented" station, and promises were made to include us in the opening of the new station.

several months later, 103.5 goes on the air with no one from the original station even involved at ALL. these bastards went so far as to even play our mixes, just edited them and dropped their station ID all over them. even used OUR phone number (457-BOMB) as their call letters so the people would equate the new station with the old.

I hear you BETO, but if we went that way we would have to fall in line with FCC regulations, so no more unedited tracks. I think once we can get internet radio to the point it's in your car and you can tune into it just like a regular radio station then Terrestrial radio will end up dead!!! The internet is breaking away from just your pc. With smartphones that is the 1st step. Get a smartphone with an unlimited data plan and you can get STR in your car. I say get unlimited data plan 2 cause we broadcast @ 128kbps!! As much as I would like to see us on the airwaves (which we were when KNOZ was up and running, me and Pattywhack had our STR show every other Sat for 4 hours down there) but like the cyber airwaves a little more, we can reach a worldwide audience compared to a 40 mile radius like KBMB.

THE 916 MAGAZINE had they little radio station poppin off for a minute in downtown. They played nuttin but underground trackz. and they was a legit station. i think it was 95.8, but they was kinda bias tho too. like you had to pay to get in there magazine to get played on the radio. it was a weak as magazine.

Yeah I agree with you, but still supported in what they was trying to do cause nobody else was doing it!! Except us on the cyber airwaves! And you got put in heavy rotation if you purchased some add spot in the mag!

that whole pay to play shit is refuckindiculous, and should NO FUCKIN WAY be a part of radio.

it goes against the grain. the whole purpose of being a DJ is to play the dope shit PERIOD. regardless of region, genre, etc.

It's all good my dude I didn't take it wrong at all, I feel what you saying, and agree 100% PIMP!!

That's why we need everyone to tell a friend about STR!! It's easy as hell to tune us in, everyone who say they are supports of this music just need to tune in!! Shit it's free, so if you like Northern Cali slaps tune us in ;)
