I don't know if someone with a picture of Kreayshawn as his/her sig has an authority on lyricism. Another MC (I'm using that term loosely) who speaks about alcohol, drugs, money; I've heard all of that before - from almost every rapper for the passed 10 years. Rap is one of the only genres that literally hasn't evolved, if anything, it has devolved into some convoluted advertisement promoting being a moron. It's not music anymore. It's hollow. Listened to by people who aren't half as cool as they think they are, looking 200% more fucking stupid than they think they do.
If you're a musician, rapper, producer. There are two types of you. Artists.. and those who suck popsicles while posing in front of "RIP Bin Laden" graffiti in some convoluted attempt at political irony.
If anyone in this thread raps or makes music. Think about it before you record it. Music is the superhighway to the soul. You can do more than talk about how high you are. If you're a poet not an emcee, go read your work at Open Mics, inspire people. If you're a rapper, write about something that terrifies you, write about things that people are scared to let pour from their pens. If you're fearless in your work, you can change the way people think.
Anyway. Download the album.

It's different, and if you have a problem with that, you are an idiot and a soldier of cultural stagnation.
