thats big that justin got down with the king of the bay.he recongnize where all the slang comes from just like when fred durst put him on his album as well.dont get it twisted ive been with 40 a lot of places where these major cats notice him they make they way over and say whats up ie dmx at universal studios 1 night, jermaine dupri at a show they did together, allen iverson at all star party.jay z in the studio in new york.i think what it is tho they dont want to publicly speak on dude and give him props cuz they dont want to be compared to him with the way they talk i think..justin and water im sure hooked up not only because they respect eachother but also both on jive and hopefuly with barry weiss and them over there will finally let 40 get his due like he deserves.

Well look what he did with Blu Cantrell and Lil Flip. Gettin his name out there. The Blu Cantrel remix you couldnt tell if Blu cantrell really did the remix with 40 or if they just pasted it in there, but with Lil Flip, you know they did it together, cuz Lil Flip says his name a bunch of times in the song.

Does Justin Timberlake say E-40's name at all in the song? cuz I wonder if its just a west coast remix or what. If Timberlake says his name then its official.

Was it a remix of "Cry Me A River"? Sorry, dont know if he has another single after that since i dont have cable and dont listen to the radio. but that song aint bad. I can see him fitting it good with that song.

either way, its a good move, whatever it takes to get your name in peoples mouth.

As long as the song is dope, and as long as 40 spits rhymes the way he usually does (variation between fast and slow tempos), it makes no difference to me who he makes a record with. "Automatic" with Fabulous from last year was dope as hell--40 rhymed as he usually does, and it worked (if you're wondering, I wasn't crazy about Fabulous' lyrics, but that's just me, and besides, for what it was worth, Fab was just being himself, too).

Hey, back in the day, RUN D-M-C did a rap version of "Walk This Way" with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry (from Aerosmith), and they came as tight as they did on their older hits, IMHO. And I don't remember hearing one "sellout" cry anywhere (trust me, I'm old enough to remember)! People dug it for what it was. Do your thing, 40! PEACE!

First off, Nelly was garbage to begin with so that argument is worthless.

Anyway, I've never had a problem with rappers gettin' down with singers. Especially someone like Timberlake. Yap gums all you want, but dude is talented regardless of where he came from (a manufactured boy band). It's a hustler move for 40.

I've been anticipating something like this because like Senator said, the Jive connection is there. Took longer than I thought though.

What's the name of the song? I may actually listen to KMEL today for the first time in 6 years.

ya'll got it twisted... timberlake is a hustla for gettin with E-40! cuz 40 wata been Federal long before timberlake has been. timberlake doin cuz he wants 2 reach the millions of Bay Area rap fans which for the most part is extremely loyal to the local rap scenes.
My take on the situation

No offense at all to 40 (one of my all time favorites) or the Bay as a whole, but Timberlake is not trippin' in the least on the "millions of Bay Area rap fans".

Yeah, he'll get some 40 fans into his shit, but the most benefit from this goes to 40 who gets exposed to the MULTI-MILLIONS of Timberlake's fans.

The main thing is that 40 deserves breaks like this. This is called the music business, and an artist of his calibre needs these types of features to expose him to the masses that are listening to Justin Timberlake. This isn't a sellout move, this is a business move, and I wish 40 the best with it. Hopefully he will get on some more high powered projects that will further expose him to the masses. 40 is more then deserving of a double platinum record, and the props for all of the stuff that he has done for West Coast hip-hop. Keep it movin 40.
