Don't even get me started on how many rappers try to emulate the mafia lifestyle. Matter of fact, I bet your favorite rappers idolize John Gotti, Lucky Luciano, Carlo Gambino, etc. etc. When it comes down to it, white folks can be just as gangster as the next man. The Italian Mafia STARTED the bangin' shit...when they were murkin' dudes over the alcohol trade...which was the equivalent of todays drug trade that street gangs lose their lives over.
So now I ask you this...how do you feel about black rappers dressing up like Italian Mafiosi in their videos and photo shoots?? Is that as bad as a white dude saggin' his pants?? Or is there a double standard there?? I personally don't care, but I think it's funny that cats dress up like old school mobsters in their videos and shit, make numerous references to DON'S and CAPO's, then turn around and make fun of a white cat because he wears hip-hop gear.
Just some food for thought....

You crazy as fuck, what nigga on the block try and act like the Mafia? Yea, the movies are entertaining but don't nobody give a shit about that, you don't see niggas in the hood wearing cheap suits and eating half fried shrimp, only a select few corny rappers do that shit in videos, Pac even used to speak on a few east coast niggas doin that shit. But I do see a whole lot of white dudes roaming the street with their pants sagging lower than their self esteem, with backwards baseball caps and gold grills.

I didn't say it was every dude on the block...if you read my shit again, you will see I was talking about rappers. Just like we're talking about White Rappers, not all the white kids on the block TRYING to look the part. I'm sayin, if cats accept this MOB image, this DON image...then cats can accept the white kid who actually grew up with hip-hop in his veins. I'm a big fan of 'Pac, but 'Pac was one of the worst when it came to this. He called himself Makaveli the DON, and he was IN A VIDEO with cats dressin' all mobbed out. On top of that, in one of his interviews he said that he wasn't a DON, JUST A CAPO!! 2Pac was and is the best in my book, but he wasn't speakin' against that shit.
Oh, and don't tell me cats on the block aren't tryin' to compare themselves to major crime figures with names like Young Gotti and Capone..because I know there are plenty of cats on the streets with nicknames like those.

My only reason for bringing up the Italian stuff was to prove that not just white cats adapt to other cultures and ways of living. Some folks on here are on that, "If you aren't black, you can't dress like that...or talk like that" blah blah blah blah blah! This is the United States...the biggest melting pot on the planet. People have come from all over the world, and they have introduced their cultures to the other people who call this place home. Yet, a white cat can't "legitimately" indulge in the hip-hop lifestyle without being criticized.
The Italian thing was just a prime example...showing that a lot of these thug "ideals", things that white cats "can't be a part of" without being laughed at, were brought to the worlds attention on an organized crime scale by Italians...oh, and Jewish cats too...like Meyer Lansky. Some cats tend to forget though, that the shit they see going on these days, was going on in every major city in America during the early 1900's...with the gangs....years and years and years before Bloods, crips, Nortenos, Surenos, Latin Kings...etc. I'm not taking any credit away from any of these gangs, I'm just saying that the type of shit that's going on today didn't start in Los Angeles...and the most feared people in this country had the same skin tone as the cats these youngsters laugh at and discredit.
