Oakland, CA (PRWEB) April 18, 2007 – The Black Music Association Academy of America has honored songstress Jimmie Reign with a Bay Area Black Music Award for Best Hip Hop Soul Vocalist. Other nominees for this prestigious award included Keyshia Cole, Zuri & Kenisha Fisher, but it was "The First Lady of the Bay" who took home the prize. Jimmie was also nominated as Best Female R&B Performer and gave a
breathtaking performance at the event.

Jimmie Reign hails from the Bay Area and is following in the successful footsteps of other Bay Area native's Keyshia Cole and Goapele. Her singles "Tryin' To Be Your Girl" and Superstar are receiving radio airplay on 106 KMEL, WILD 94.9, KBMB, KSFM, KVEG and the Sirius Radio Network. Jimmie recently opened for Keyshia Cole,

Jimmie Reign is dope, thats my home-slice right there, she's very talented.
very humble, she makes alot of real good 'grown-up' music that youngin's
can't fathom. She is actually one of my favorite performers from the bay,
she really puts on a great show! I'd advise ya'll to go see her do her thing!...

I'll throw underwear's on the stage at her any time! ASK HER! hahaha...

props to her. a little surprising that a female many have never heard of can win an award over k. cole. never heard of this award period. does this black academy give regional awards all over the country. thatmust be a long ass awards show.

I'm surprised how many people haven't heard of her. She's been puttin' in work. Congrats 2 her and her team. She's a talented singer.

Jimmy Reign is very talented and deserves the award along with major attention...IMO she can sing better than Coles and is probably a more likable person...

I don't know what Goapele and Keyshia Cole market themselves as, but then again, I don't manage them. I think Malika goes by "The Queen of the Bay", but these type of title situations are subjective. We are marketing JIMMIE as "The First Lady of the Bay" and it was a title given by TJ at 51OAK. We thought it was a great idea and implemented it into the marketing plan. Hopefully I answered your question.
