The Houston Texans have signed quarterback Jeff Garcia to serve as the team's 3rd stringer behind rookie T.J. Yates and fellow veteran Jake Delhomme, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

The 41-year old last appeared on an NFL roster in 2009 with the Philadelphia Eagles as a backup to Donovan McNabb and was last a started in 2008 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent last season with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League. In 11 NFL seasons, the 4-time Pro Bowler has thrown for 25,537 yards with 161 touchdowns and 83 interceptions.
