Thats what you call breeding a cult of personality for their leader. Same thing is going on with north korea. They where willing to die for their emporer, because thats how they were trained in the armed forces. The civilians were still nice as hell during WWII. Most Japanese were opposed to the war. My family had nothing to do with with of the bombings, they mostly live way south. They didn't want the war either. You can't really say it shaped them up.

It's like our current war in the middle east. Our government decided to go there, not us personally. Imagine if something happened to the actual civilians of the United States and other countries go "yup, that's for invading Iraq. That will shape you up".

I had nothing to do with that. I am the same person I was before the war and after. You think because someone dropped a bomb in the middle of Texas I am nice all of a sudden? It doesn't make any sense.

In general, the Japanese are a very respectful and courteous. They always have been.

im just sayin...for that time, its terrible...but these with the internet and all these gore sites in full color and video...on top of shit ive seen in real life....on top of the hollywood effects that are produced that shit is tame...

It started earlier.

But the US Russia, and Great Britain told them they could not annex land, and annexed it I believe either the liaodong peninsula or some area Japan had conquered for themselves in a big "do as I say not as I do" move.

So the US, including Teddy Roosevelt, taught Japan o be imperial and a one time praised their 'imperial' ambitions, but later when the shit really went down exposed themselves as racist hypocrites.

The right to expand and occupy territory was shown as solely the white man's right. After that, Japan started mobilizing for WWII.
