iTunes question

I reformatted my computer after getting a hella bad virus, now I re-installed iTunes and it won't open. I double click it and nothing happens, no error message no nothing. I plug in the iPod nothing happens. I click on an .mp3 file and nothing happens. Already tried re-installing. Anyone got any ideas?
