I don't really agree. I think in the bay like to the locals the good shit is usually above the wack shit. At least in my opinion, I know who is good out here and who is a cut above the rest like San Quinn, E-40, Turf Talk, Feds, Clyde Carson, Mistah Fab, etc...The wack artists, although they might got connections and get put on once in a while, it never really catches on to the majority as far as radio play, units sold, whose goin to their shows, etc.
I think one problem is a lot of ppl like on this site and other rap forums consider a rapper to be hella sick b/c he didn't pass high school, or he's been to jail a few times, etc etc when in reality their music is shit, but I guess its the "cool" thing to be down with the trashiest dudes out there b/c they're "street". There's a lot of rappers in the area for example like in Oakland that all just sound alike. Same beats, same flows, same content, same simple shit and ppl will say its tight just b/c its from oakland or b/c they know dude or b/c of what I just said a minute ago.
All that shit really doesn't effect the majority tho, b/c the E-40's and the San Quinn's etc etc still fly high above these dudes and outshine them b/c their music has more quality, more thought, more skill, more creativity. They got their business together as well.
