NOT THAT I THINK THAT THERE IS SUCH A THING AS TOO HARD, BUT IS IT POSSIBLE? COULD SLICK BE EXPOSING "TOO MUCH OF AMERIKKKA'S FINEST CITYS' " DIRTY BUSINESS BY SHOWING THE WORLD WHAT THE GOVERN-MENT (LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL) KEEPS TRYING TO SWEEP UNDER THE RUG? WHETHER YOU LOVE OR HATE MITCH YOU GOTTA ADMIT TO THE PASSION AND REALITY THAT COME ACROSS IN HIS RHYMES, SO I'M ASKIN DO YOU THINK THE POWERS THAT BE ARE AFRAID TO EXPOSE THE UNDER BELLY OF THE CITY WE LOVE THROUGH A ARTIST SUCH AS MITCHY SLICK?

I dont think that's exactly whats holdin Mitchy bacc. I think the major labels are scared of him cuz the nigga got the feds on him, his set got the injuction and shit like that. Plus I just think the majors aint fuccin with DAGO in general. We got a gang of talent here but we dont get that shine like we should. I dont think they're excludin him cuz he's talkin bout real shit but who knows, you do bring up a good point tho

I SEE WHAT YOU SAYIN, BUT IF ALL OF THATS TRUE CONTROVERSY SELLS, SO ISN'T THAT EVEN MORE OF A REASON TO SIGN HIM? EVEN KANYE GOT LEGAL TROUBLES, SO WHAT BETTER WAY TO PROOVE HE'S WHAT MOST GANGSTA RAPPERS CLAIM TO BE THEN READIN THE PAPERS TO PROOVE HIS AUTHENTICITY?

Kanye's troubles are not as street as Mitchy's.

He has a big mouth and ego... but he's not being messed with Feds.

I also thing the major labels are not fukn wid alot of West Koast. I think they mostly dealin with Southern Artists as of now.. its just the current trend.

Dago GOT A SHIT LOAD OF TALENT... but Its not gettin any shine besides the hardcore katz like us.

audiences as a whole doesn't care much about authenticity or how hard someone is. They care about how good the music is. I believe mitchy is definitely talented, but rap itself hasn't really proved to be an intellectual breeding ground. I think rap has to grow up soon or it just going to burn out(there seems to be early signs of this). Don't get it twisted, i am a huge rap fan, but things have to change at some point. We need to be more proud of rappers who don't commit crimes to prove their music is 'real', stay smart and take pride that you have something to make money off of that isn't stealing or selling drugs. But also, i believe that the west coast almost as a whole is very neglected not only dago. Rappers/producers need to start focusing on the music (mitchy def is focused on lyrics tho) and start looking to different influences other than the same shit we've been hearing since the early 90's. Sorry if i am rambling/misreading your post. But shit, can you imagine if Duke Ellington was trying to prove how hard he was by taking pics with of himself with guns and blunts for his myspace friends? Pretty sure he wouldn't even have the time to compose his great music.

no offense to mitchy, but lmao @ mitchy slick being too hard

i dont know if its that serious
im sure hes a man like everyone else at the end of the day
w emotions and morals and standards and possibly kids to look after

i mean last i checked mitchy was a rapper not a political activist..but maybe mitchy aspires to be mroe active on the community/political front, maybe he already is. but i really dont think the govt is sittin somewhere like how can we stop mitchy from exposing the truth

you must be getting something totally different from his music than i do......which might be a good thing?

i think san diego would go after something like voice and viewpoint before a rapper

I thought he was onto something with his song "I rap like a star, I talk like a star" etc but haven't heard anything since that could really translate to a major label commercial appeal. In my opinion he's good for the underground

Have yall thought Maybe Slick hasnt been offered the right deal yet that he wants to except. Bc if you smart you never except the first two offers.

he like that west coast jeezy without the major behind him fuck it do it like c-bo sell a mill straight independent homeboy....
C-Bo aint doin nothin close to them numbers...I agree with Hurrache in the sense the focus aint on the West, and A Label dont care how hard, how soft, how good a rapper is, its always the bottom line of whether they think they can make money off an artist, and some labels aint in it just to sell 100,000 units.( not knockin that though)...Who is gettin signed these days anyways?

That nigga 50 Cal always has to know some one personally or has to be right on some ones opinion. First of my dude these threads are 91.99% opinions............. That nigga C-Bo sold a mil nigga and thats that. ( Not even a Big C-bo Fan, So need for me arguing with you or you commenting back) You aint sit down wit him no where and if you did i guarantee that question of him selling a million records did not come up in the conversation. So 50 Cal stop it.
