is it true that spice 1 was the only west coast rapper to get 5 mics in the source?

That's what I was thinking, it Wikipedia who knows if it's real or not.
na those albums may have 5 now, but when the magazines originally came out and graded the albums, the only one to get 5 was the first Ice Cube

what was the last 5 Mic album?? wasn't it Lil Kim?

I hate going to The Source for my music reviews anymore. Actually, I rarely look into any music related magazine other than Rolling Stone. Most of my info come from artist Myspace's, music web sites, and official home pages.

Why do we even look at the source for information about rappers we know more about than they will ever know. The source is for east coast rappers period. They might give a little props to west coast rappers, but just to be politically correct. I wouldn't care who they give mics too. They have been wrong all the time, whats to stop them from giving albums that suck 5 mics, nothing. All Bullshit.....

^^^what he said...

In the 10 year anniversary edition of the Source, which i think came out in 98 or 99...they had a list of the greatest hip hop albums that came out from the beginning up until 98, they had Spice 1's first album listed in it, along with Too Shorts Born To Mack and Life is...Too Short.

There were a few other west coast and down south rap artist that had albums listed on their as well...
