is it that hard for blacks to speak in proper english..

Blacks natural speech patterns were formed by those who raise them,just as a baby raised in the south will have a southern drawl.By the time a child enters school they have for the most part already developed a speech pattern,and for many blacks,people in thier home dont speak ''proper'' english.Remember that blacks come from several generations of people who were held back educationally(it was ILLEGAL for a black person to read at one point),and put more emphasis in hard work than pronouncing words correctly
I can speak ''proper'' english but its not my natural speech pattern.I learned proper english in school but I learned my speech pattern from those I was raised around,who learned it from thier parents,who were raised down south in the 20s and 30s,who learned thier speech pattern from slaves/or the children of slaves.
If I had been raised by whites my natural speech pattern would be like thiers.If I had been raised by spanish speaking only parents I would speak spanish.And so on.
One can learn to speak a new language or develop a new speech pattern but it wont be thier natural,relaxed way of talking.

I agree some black people use words in wrong ways, but so what man.. let people talk how they talk... I know white people that dont use proper grammer neither. And hispanics and whatever the fuck else there is man.. We all dont use no proper grammer.. haha threw that double negative in just to piss you off. And now yall jumped to the topic of racisim? And with my Grandpa, i kinda got the racisim outta him.. Black people bought there house around the block from me when they moved. The black people that moved in had a son.. became my best friend and we treated him like my brother.. Called my mom mom and my dad, dad. Knew he was welcome to just walk into my house. Hell when his mom and dad were havin some issues the dude lived with me for a while. And since we went to my grandperents crib for dinner everyweekend, my grandpa got used to him and treated him like a grandson as well.. NOW things have changed cuz high school came roundDIfferent schools spread apart.. We started talkin agian and then day after my birthday he tried to steal my Green Bulls Jersey, and my green NIkes. Then i realized one of my jerseys was gone for a while and my mom didnt have it like i though. But thats one thing HE hated as a black man. He HATED the black people that filled out the steriotypes.. these are his words so dont get offended . we were listnin to the radio and some black dude tried to steal some shit or something and killed people and he was like "I hate when niggas do that. They fill out what everyone says..Give BLACK people bad names." He was like "theres a difference between blacks and niggers. NIggas make black people look bad by actually DOIN what people THINK black people do. Rob, bang, shoot, deal. Thats what people think and NIGGAs like to give blacks bad names by actually DOING those things.

Just like every white person in this thread, I will agree with Ironic Commando. Put me in a situation where people are speaking nothing but gutter ass slang and I will be fine. But I definitely do not feel the need to use it constantly, even if I grew up around it.
I'd rather not live in a lower-class language universe where my sloppy ass speech mates and begats the sloppy ass speech of others. Some habits die hard, but the ability to speak properly is really about expanding your mentality, your horizons, and your environment. I would much prefer the ability to relate with anyone and be able to take advantage/charge in any situation than the ability to relate with only people from the hood. Also, the two are not mutually exclusive.
