As we get older in this Game it should also mean we're getting wiser. Of course that's not always the case.

Let me try and make this short and sweet. I've had a few conversations with a few people out here and the topic of teaching/ guiding a younger generation comes up.

Often times it turns out where the youngster forgets (in this music realm) that when he/she first approched you. He/she didn't even know how to write 16 bars. Didn't know how to market, or had any idea how the Game ran.

All he knew was...he had a computer and a recording program. He'd record his flows and was in search for somebody to listen.

Along comes the wiser/older person who has been doing it for quite sometime and has knowledge of what to do. This person listens and without having to...embraces the youngster and takes him/her under his wing.

Time passes and the youngster gets impatient and begins to subiminaly diss (on tracks) the person who's helped him out. He say's he needs no guidance, but yet the seasoned vet pay's it no mind. He feels and sees the youngster losing focus.

Maybe the youngster feels things are not happening fast enough, yet the older seasoned rapper feels he's been there, done that and it didn't work. He doesn't want the youngster to follow that unsuccessful path, but the youngster sees different and insist on doing things his way. On top of that he bad mouths the older one who helped and guided him.

Kind of like, "Rocky 5". The young Tommy Gun befriends Rocky, only to forget who really helped him out. And wants to run things his way.

In question...

Is it common sence? Or just plain ungrateful?

Should you take somebody under your wing? Or let them figure it out for themselves and not waste your time?

I been in this situation before homie, You can only do so much before you have to let them go and kinda say fuck it and let them learn from there mistakes on there own. Because yes in the long run if you stick around and try and continue to help them your doing nothing but wasting your time and breathe. Someone posted a good quote on here once and lets see if i can get it right. "never argu with an ignorant person, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience" Your going to get hella frustrated and not want to let them go to learn cause its gonna hurt like hell cause your the one that helped them come up so your not gonna wanna see them get hurt and you know its gonna happen cause it either happened to you or you just know the things to come. I would just for warn his stubbern cocky ass and say fuck it. Let him know when shit comes down to not coming running to you even know the door is always open in the end you know? Unless your done with being a true homie to him.

I feel you Brugh. I'm at a point where I don't give a shit about lending a hand out to the "New Jack" in the Game. I'm busy tryin' to build myself...I have no time to focus on somebody who's going to know half the Game because it was handed down to em'.

I think they should earn it and that's the only way they'll appreciate it.

It's like handing somebody the keys to a brand new car...they'll drive around with the new car smell, but have no idea how much work it took to earn it.

you should fuck dude up...I know he's younger and what not, but you gotta put the lil homie on check for that shit....
That thought did cross my mind, but I figure I let him lynch himself. I believe in karma and believe if anybody does something with bad intent...they'll never succeed.

I keep moving forward and never look back...it's wasting more of my time. I got a flight I trying to catch and don't have time to argue with anybody who wants me to sit and tell him how he can board with me...he's just gonna have to figure it out for himself.

EDIT: YES ITS BEING UNGRATEFUL....
It's funny you mention that because I just got hit on the PM with somebody claimin' I'm talking about him.

In all fairness, no it's not anybody from the 831 area.

This thread was not made with the intent to blow anybody out the water, but it was made due to the fact that it happens a lot (in general).
