pac is over-rated

since he died, its become "cool" to listen to his music, which, IMO, isn't that great. theres hella more people that are better than pac. don't get me wrong, im still quick to throw in a pac cd and smoke to it. but theres still more people i would pick over him

same wit biggie, he's garbage to me, but since he died, its become "cool" to listen to him.

the rap games odd. ur only a legend when u die. of course theres sum exceptions but for the most part, its true
I was with you until you said Biggie was garbage. Thats just blasphemy if you like hiphop. True Garbage is somebody like D4L.

There will never be anotha man in rap history to cause such an impact in such little time he was alive PHENOMENAL ! He's was one of the sickest and im proud to be affiliated with history of my close homie TUPAC SHAKUR!

NEVER UNDERATED BUT DUPLICATED IMITATED never OVERATED Like Thizzmatic said... i dont think hes underrated or overrated...he made great music and he gets the recognition that he deserves.

its true that he is one of if not the most imitated rapper of all time, and for that and the pedestal he was put on after he died then yes he is over-rated. Same goes for Biggie & Mac Dre. These are all artists that were good but died when their popularity was at its peak (starting to peak for Mac Dre), and people took their deaths and ran with it, buying all their older albums, wearing their faces on t-shirts, putting them in rap songs, and trying to emulate them on their albums. I only wish people did that for Big L & Big Pun who were each lyrically better than the 3 of them combined IMO. I just find it funny that people idolize pac so much and don't really show the same for snoop. snoop is the reason there was a death row for pac to be on. he basically took the idea of nwa and made it into an entirely new genre of music. but even I wouldn't put snoop on a pedastal like that, him along with pac and big are just pieces in this hip hop chess game.

let the hateration begin.

makaveli & all eyes on me can be regarded as classics, me against the world would be pushing it, but could be...but the rest were just albums with good songs

I can't stand it when people say "Pac wasn't GANGSTA"...SO WHAT?? That doesn't make or break him. He never ran around claimin' colors, or any of that shit. 2Pac was a fuckin' genius, a revolutionary, on and off wax. Some of y'all cats need to look deeper than the red and blue, and the thug shit, 2Pac was so many layers DEEPER than all that. If you don't know that, then you shouldn't be bumpin' his shit, cause you have no clue what he stood for, PERIOD!

How many of YOUR favorite rappers can knock out an entire album in a week, and have it be a fuckin classic...mainstream or otherwise? It hasn't happened since 1996, and it will never happen again...unless some cat with major heart comes along and does it all. 2Pac was and is still off the chain, from STRICTLY DOPE, to the day he passed on...he didn't become GREAT at Death Row, he became great when he realized his talents.

As far as overrated...NEVER!! From here, to Tazmania, to Nigeria, to Europe...ALL OVER THE GLOBE, 2Pac is STILL recognized and celebrated as one of the biggest entities in Hip-Hop, and the voice of an entire generation of kids and young adults ACROSS THE GLOBE!! I doubt somebody can be THAT overrated, he made an impact, and all these nations full of people, couldn't possibly be wrong.

pac tha greatest of all time

he did influence alot uv rap nowadays. fuccin tattoos wouldn't even be a big thing if pac didn't start that. "thugs" wouldnt even be a big thing. EMOTIONAL raps wouldn't be a big thing. nowadays folx gettin metaphors confused with great lyrics. thats all i got to say.

"We gon' to mass today, we have to pray
Besides what the pastor say, I have to say
Since Pac passed away
Most you rappers don't even deserve a track from me " kanye west

"Though I walk thru the valley of hell the shadow follows me
Wisdom hard to swallow tomorrow expect apologies
You probably panic, stranded in search of a better planet
Realism hard to understand, we stand slanted
and still stranded, merciless thieves stole the best of me
I pray to black Jesus to please take the rest of me
And still, the best of us build, and reach monetary gains
Some of us kill, but still, most of us can change
if we search deeper, god bless the hustler, curse the first sleeper
Enemies get beside me, flows go deeper inside
We we ride plots keep all my enemies blinded
Time will soon show, a thought can last for years
Outshinin them fakes smile plastic tears
like last year, ni**az stuck in the past, and it's clear
Just some busta a*s bastards allergic to cash this year
Makaveli for the Mob, M-O-B
Killin bustaz is my motherf**kin job, him or me
Lyrically fatally driven, ni**az reported missin
My competition dead or in prison, as the world turns... " tupac shakur

i never said he was garbage. my opinion is he's garbage, he didn't have not one good line that i liked in all the 3 cd's i've heard of him.

and, yes, d4l is the poster group of garbage

and lol@ thats blasphemy if you like hiphop. how is that? cause im not followin the masses when i form my opinion?

the last biggie track i heard (goin back to cali or w/e its called) made me think "why do people like him so much?" if u think he's good, then good for u. just like these pac riders, go head and like who u like, but to say sumones the greatest is stupid, there is no greatest in music, its all opinions

just think at 23 he had done more for hip hop then a lot of people have in their lives....and he was a young kat who everyone including grown ass men still want to emulate....as far as his pre deathrow days....like the other guy said..still classik tracks....from 2pacalypse now to me against the world and every other album....he made good music and is the man who deserves the most respect in my opinion.
