Put yourself out there like that and you might get shot.

She gets props for doing what U.S. citizens don't/won't do

She gets negative props for becoming a martyr for the wrong people that will accomplish nothing substantive with/from her death

Yall need to stop relying on "news" sources that use Twitter as a "news" source
what do you suggest we rely on for news in Iran when foreign press are no longer allowed into Iran, their own newscasts in Iran dont even address the situation, and the ayatola says everything is all good and for the US to stop meddling?

twitter/ireport/blogs are people just like you and me living their lives expressing themselves and when shit hits the fan that may be their only conduit for communication.

and whomever filmed it should be slightly (understatement.) be ashamed of themselves

a lady is dying and youre filming her die

and she looks right into your eyes (the camera) and dies after

good luck with living with that shit.
yea this is a very disturbing image of this woman dieing and blood coming out her mouth and nose, i dont see how the person capturing this should be ashamed of them self when they are exposing whats going on it the streets of where they live. i doubt this person was in the same mindset of the person taping that salon fight in oaktown where that broad was getting her ass whooped. i mean you hear the people in the background screaming once they see blood coming out her face the scene is chaos

crazy world we live in man, i really started paying attention to international shit during this past presidential election. alot of fronts to be watching, your neighborhood, city, nation, world. plus we havent really seen shit yet as far as technology and advances in technology are concerned. i mean computers are just now really starting to become apart of our lives starting around the 1980s -1990s. and with computers crunching numbers that means advances in weaponry/nuclear technology and a great responsibility that goes with that. im off on a tangent now but rip to the folks that have lost their lives in Iran

There are plenty of foreign press correspondents in Iran. Shit even the Daily Show had people there.

Which is why the shit isn't reliable.

well its not up for you to see because you arent the person filming, right? and i wasnt even calling this the equivelent of the oakland salon fight..what the fuck? thats ridiculous. thats why i dont even be talking hella serious on here...yall be on that other shit. lol that shit is completely mother fucking off topic to me saying that i hope he dosent bear any moral/mental/physical/spiritual harm for taping it. if anything im being compassionate on his views and hoping his journalism dosent bite him in the ass later on down the line because i see his position in taping it (without someone explaining it to me on the net). its not up for you to understand or for me to illustrate dog, i just made a statement and it wasnt necessarily to be understood by the posters on siccness. I don't know why everyone is so gung-ho on breaking down other peoples comments like that on here.

i wish i could explain to you my mindframe in saying that, but really a) explaining a moot point isnt even worth the time b) you could at the end of the day, still not understand it. so if you dont get my viewpoint, its okay. we'll live to see the end of it. lol

true there are embedded correspondents taking risks reporting this information as well.

while i would definately take alot of info on twitter/ireport with a grain a salt, that doesnt necessarily mean there isnt good information in there

i was addressing specifically what you had indicated within the quoted text, im not here to rip people up and what they say thats not my style. after that initial post you put that I quoted i see you eloborated more its all good. the impression that i got from the initial quote was that you were saying that person had no business fliming this lady dieing and it didnt make sense to me

as for making a statement that may be questioned etc, that is what this forum is here for discussion debate etc, it is what it is. as long as we respect each others position its all good in the end

how did this turn into a discussion about a woman being brutally murdered by a fucked up regime to a discussion about whether it's ok to film a person dying? let's try to stay on topic here

It takes money to make money. The money they have HERE came from THERE.
Not necessarily true. Maybe for some of them, but not all. You're making a generalization based on what you think. You think EVERY Iranian has brought millions with them from back home?

A lot of them *GASP* get loans to start their own business here - just like you or I would

I agree tho it's a good topic - I personally am conflicted about whether it's OK to film her dying. I think in her case there wasn't much that could be done after she got shot - she went pretty quickly. Also, it's a reality that a lot of people here and around the world can see to wake up to the violence going on there right now...

I just went off topic too now lol

Iran Bans International Press

The Iranian government has tried to block Twitter and SMS since the presidential election on Friday – and now it's taking censorship one step further. The government has now officially banned international press in Tehran, saying that reports and videos have been biased towards supporters of Mousavi. All foreign press will be banned from covering protests on Tuesday, and only the government-run media will be permitted to report from the streets. "No journalist has permission to report or film or take pictures in the city,” the Culture Ministry said.

thats ridiculous...but at some point media does bear a job to censorship...for WHOMEVER

its already all over the net. but on another angle the reality is already on the streets where they are.

america tried to get all emo about the wtc images at one point in respect for the fallen..

i mean, i DO visit rotten.com daily (lol) im just saying i dunno if shit like that should be easily accessable because not everyone takes it like the next man..theres alot of sick individuals who love blood who might be talking about raping the body of that young woman like its a joke..thats what i think about. the negative energy it could build and not the positive it might be doing for those who havent, hisotriclaly...seen blood already whether its in america, tijuana, or elsewhere

the internet is not a compassion filled place..we know that..mutha fuckas joke about infants, peoples wifes husbands play pranks on people..i just would love to see seriousness remain serious

Do you blindly quote certain posts and not read them?

Are you saying that news organizations like BBC, AP, Times, Pravda, etc don't have correspondents/reporters/bureaus in Iran? You must be if you disagree with what I said. If so, I think you’ve spent too much time shaking your head and you knocked something lose.

Since when has government permission been the requisite criteria for JOURNALISTS to do their job?

Rusto let me refer you back to this post you missed in your blind quoting.

What did the world do in 1956 to keep up with the Soviet crack down in Hungary? I mean there was no myspace to keep everyone up to date with reliable information.

What did the world do in 1968 to keep up with what was happening in Prague? I mean there was no facebook to keep everyone up to date with reliable information.

What did the world do in 1986 to keep up with what was happening in China's Tiananmen Square? I mean there was no twitter to keep everyone up to date with reliable information.

Maybe the Soviets and Chinese just weren't as sophisticated as Iran at suppressing the media?

The press ain't doing their jobs. Don't be an apologist for them.
