Does anybody out there actually own an original copy
of TOO SHORT's very FIRST CASSETTE (or LP)
1983 release...which features cuts like "Invasion Of The Flat Booty Bitches", "Blowjob Betty", and "She's A Bitch"?
I don't know the name of Short Dog's very FIRST
record right off hand, but I KNOW it's not DON'T STOP RAPPIN'
because that came out in 1985 on 75 Girls Records and Tapes.
I would definitely appreciate any info. and it would be cool if somebody
could maybe put up some pics of his very first tape!
I don't know if he made it on WAX too, but damn I bet it's got to be a rare one to find these days. Thanks for the help. Peace.

its in my Signature....The 1st actuall release is Dont Stop Rappin which dropped in 84-85. He did have a few 12" singles AND before he dropped the 1st album he was doing them Special Request which nobody seems to own...I actually have an Extra "Players" og tape for sale if interested. Its the trunk tape with that OG Playboy bunny insert instead of the re-issue with Short on the cover...

I knew I remembered seeing your sig before, now that's what I call an OG
collection!!! I bet you won't ever plan on selling any of those!!!

Thanks for the response, is there anything before 1984 in your slide show?

One more thing, I CAN'T BELIEVE there were CDs of the 75 Girls releases!!!
Did you buy those from Short Dog himself???

Nah, those cds are Conversions from the tapes that L-wood and I created. Those were never released as CDs in that format just the Greatest Hits Players years and About Time releases had the 1st 3 albums....In the slide show all is 84 and up. I have been trying to track anything down pre 84 and have only come accross like 2 tracks but no actuall album releases...

out of curiosity, what made you ask the question if there was an album before Dont Stop Rappin in 84-85? Even $hort hisself acknowledges Dont Stop as his 1st release, followed by Players and Raw Uncut??

Well, I read in allmusic that he recorded his first proper album in 1983,
so I assumed that he had one that year, now I realize, that was
DON'T STOP RAPPIN' he recorded that year and actually released
in 84-85...would you say that's right folks?

I remember back in 83-84 people talkin about some song called cusswords. It was definetely one of those special request tapes that circulated throughout the west. I think OG Born 2 Mack dropped in 85, then Jive picked it up in 87.

the OG "Born To Mack" tape-only came out in 87 and then got re-released in 89 i think.

OG, meaning not Jive? I remember buying it on vinyl in early '88 (Jive). I heard it came out 2 years prior to that not on Jive.

Nah, nah, nah... what I said to r8r wasn't right... I mean you can call me
out on that last comment I posted, IT WAS NOT CORRECT!!!
Nope, I knew I read it right, I just looked it up at ALLMUSIC again,
Short DID release his first proper album in 1983...
somebody please explain to me how Don't Stop Rappin'
could be his first release, when I look up the facts on his tapes
and the dates of the albums that came out on 75 Girls and Dangerous Music, there IS nothing released before '84-85!!!
It's still a mystery to me.

Sorry for that, I should always double check my facts...
