The Pope/Hitler pic shows that I am against the Catholic Church.
The "Tie a yellow ribbon around your neck" shows that I dont support the US troops.
The Iraqi getting pushed by the US soldier shows that I dont support the war and I have solidarity with all working class Iraqi's who resist the illegal US occupation and Imperialism.
Well that all depends on what the draft says. Since there is no draft, no rules apply. If a draft were ever implemented, then and only then would you know who it applies to.

I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility, but I think it’s very unlikely. As I stated; it would be political suicide for the party who pushes it, and as Contagious Locc said, shit would really have to be fucked up for the rich ruling elite to even consider a draft. But on the other hand, America’s economy is rapidly decaying and the more we need to conquer third world nations in order to maintain the lavish lifestyles of the rich, the more opposition will grow at home and abroad. Eventually our military will be overstretched, if it isn’t already, and we will either be forced to draw back and take some losses or have a draft to spread our empire.
Contagious Locc: The war in Iraq aint gonna be over any time soon. And Iran and Syria will be the next countries to be invaded. That's gonna require a lot of manpower! Right now there are national guardsmen fighting across seas! That shit isnt in their job description, they arent trained for combat, yet there they are. And look at all the soldiers who have had their tour of duty extended. they cant keep doin that to them, sooner or later theres gonna be a draft.
2-0-Sixx: Oh I know it will be political suicide. That's why I think Bush will start something (ie another war) at the end of his term and leave it up to the next president to take the blame for starting a draft.

No way. Right now Bush’s approval ratings are at an all time low and the majority of Americans are Against the Iraq war.
While I agree that the level of consciousness in America is no where near what it was during the 70’s, there still is a huge opposition to Bush and the war in Iraq and on Terror. Let us not forget that for the first time in World History tens of thousands of Americans protested a war that had yet begun.

There are key issues that Americans (conservatives and liberals) will always feel strongly about, and that is their personal freedoms. Historically Americans have always opposed the Government “overstepping their boundaries.” The most recent example of this is the Terry Shaivo case. Poll after poll after poll revealed that the overwhelming majority of Americans, even right-wing Christians or Evangelists, strongly opposed the government stepping in. Now this is just one brain-dead woman, imagine if 50,000 citizens were forced into active duty.

1.A terrorist attack, most likely a huge one, might validate a draft and sway the constituents and non-constituents of whatever political party is ruling at the time to not only accept it as necessary but welcome it with open arms.

well I'm pretty much basing my comment on the fact that I live in the Bay Area - supposedly one of America's most progressive/liberal communities, the place that was really at the forefront of the antiwar movement in the 60s and here 40 years later even though the majority of the people oppose the war I hardly ever see muthafuckas DOIN anything about it! Then again I'm just as guilty since I'm not really doin anything either, just talking about it.
I just hope that if there is a draft, people will have the balls to burn their draft cards like my uncles and them did back in the 60s.
