Green Lantern, Game, Stat Quo Tonight In NY, Green Syndicates Radio

Tonight (Dec. 20), DJ Green Lantern will host “The Invasion,” the first major performance for The Game of G-Unit/ Aftermath at Club Exit in New York City. The event also features the likes of Immortal Technique, Stat Quo, Bobby & Jabba, Cipha Sounds and surprise guests, which Green wasn’t able to reveal.
“It’s gonna be an ill combination,” Green told AllHipHop.com, “and let me show people I can put a show together. And its going to be Game’s first real New York performance.”
As incentive, Green will allow the first 500 women in free on for the show, which starts at 10 p.m.
Exit is located at 610 West 56th Street in New York.
In addition to his club ethic, Green Lantern has also started a new syndicated show in addition to his work on Hot 97 and Sirius.
"Mixtape Radio," a 3-hour weekly show, will be broadcast across the nation in several key markets and acts as a means for Green Lantern to show case his extraordinary mixing skills. In the past, the DJ/producer was only available locally, but this will expand his brand throughout the nation.
My [mixtape] style will be about one third of the show. [Commercial radio] is based on playing music that people know already. The exclusive songs are going to be between the [regular songs]. Its not going to be a regular show at all,” he said.
With a new album, Armageddon, coming on Shady Records, Green said his radio outlets are perfect for his long-term plans.
“Hip-Hop is so plastic right now and I’m just trying to bring back that raw edge back,” he said. “Who wouldn’t want to be in 30 markets? It’s just a way for me to spread myself across the country for three hours and own some of those airwaves.”
The deal was solidified with X Radio and FM2 and as a promotion Mixtape Radio will be free for radio programmers from Jan 7-9.

That Game sure is something else. The Compton rapper held it down at Club Exit in NY last night. About 2 a.m., son went on and rocked it. He rocked his own joints, but a key highlight was when he brought Kool G Rap out to the people’s delight (and ours too). The Don spit and got a warm reception from the crowd that might not have even been born when G’s career started. Nevertheless, it was what it was. Jim Jones showed up, but he looked “different.” We aren’t sure what was up with Jimmy last night. Green Lantern and his DJ buds spun through the night, hit after hit. Did we forget about Immortal Technique? NO. The crowd was there to see the gangstas and got a heavy dose of knowledge from Tech. Tha was a great look and honestly, Tech got more love from the crowd than Stat Quo. In Stat’s defense, he seemed “off.” We saw him at the Shady Convention and he was more amped than Eminem! He just appeared under the weather. Grapf livened things up a little bit when he showed up on the set. Overall, we left with a smile. Gangtas and revolutionaries on the same bill – heaven!
