I saw a discovery channel show about Ancient Egypt. One thing I found really interesting is that IMHOTEP was the "Jesus" of his time. And how he was worshipped long after his death as "Jesus" is today.

He is being accredited as to being the first person ever to perform brain surgery. Can you believe that? They say cause of his high "priest" ranking he was able to view and perform all the mumifications....so therefor he got real familiar with the whole body.

anyone else see this? or find this interesting?

Imhotep was a genius human that became a true god after his death in about 2600 BC. As chief architect under king Djoser (from the third dynasty) he created the first monumental building in history made of hewn stone: the step pyramid in Sakkara. Few written records come from his own time and his background is not known. (Some say he was the son of Djoser). He was also the prime minister, chief physician, high priest, philosopher and a poet. He was worshipped for 2500 years as the god of medicine when the Greeks and the Romans adop- ted his thoughts and spread it. Considered first child of god Ptah and goddess Nut he brought to man knowledge of healing and medicine.
He protected science and was seen as man dressed in a simple way sitting with his studying material. His tomb has not yet been found, but it is likely to be somewhere in Sakkara.
reason I wanted to post this...is because most people dont realize that LONG before the modern day b-i-b-l-e was thought of.....Egyptians had Bibles and religions. Like 2-0 said in another Thread.... (black magic)...
The Romans were the ones that eventually killed of the Egyptian empirer. And got rid of their Gods...and religion.

something to discuss....

So how can you so easily denounce ancient Egyptian religions as mythology but yet accept your religion as truth? Have you studied them? Do you know anything about them?
If his religion IS the true belief...than all other "beliefs" would then be considered "mythology" in his eyes....right?

Was Jesus an actual man of history? Was Adam & Eve? Was Noah? Was Moses? Etc. etc. etc.

"In none of these various testimonies to the fact of Christ is there any slightest hint or idea that he was not a real historical person." Roderic Dunkerley, "Beyond the Gospels."

"Historically, it is quite doubtful whether Christ ever existed at all, and if He did we do not know anything about Him." Bertrand Russell, "Why I am not a Christian."

HAHA, It's even Documenta a man named Yeshi, Yeshua or Jesus claimed he was the Son of God in Jerusalem. You're gonna dispute that because it's coming from me? And on the last thread you avoided my question, if a little girls was the only witness to a murder and there was no evidence THEN HER TESTIMONY HAS NO TRUTH BECAUSE SHE COULD HAVE MADE IT UP RIGHT?!

Show me historical facts of any reference of Jesus during when he supposedly lived or even a few years after he allegedly died? I bet the closest you can get to any reference of Jesus is approximately 70 to 100 years AFTER his "death."

You're gonna dispute that because it's coming from me?
I don't give a fuck what you think; it's been disputed for years.

And on the last thread you avoided my question
And you've avoided 95% of my questions/points.

Depends on if she could prove it or not, for example could she say what the accused was wearing, what exactly happened, etc. etc. etc.

But what if she happened to guess what he was wearing, then fuck it, see what I'm saying then. You're still dodging the Darts.

The "proof" for the existence of Christ can be found in three main sources. The argument for the existence of Jesus is strengthened because the person of Jesus Christ is mentioned by independent Christian, Jewish, and Roman sources. Obviously the person of Jesus is mentioned quite thoroughly in the New Testament and other early Christian writings but Jesus is also mentioned by the Jewish historian Josephus. The fact that Josephus, a practicing Jew and a man who was not actively involved Christian circles and not part of the early church mentions the existence of Jesus of Nazareth in his writings definitely gives credence to the argument for the existence of Jesus Christ. In turn, another of the most credible arguments for the existence of Jesus Christ are the writings of the Roman historian Tacitus. Tacitus was a Roman historian who also mentioned the existence of the crucifixion of Jesus in his writings. In turn, the writings of Tacitus are viewed by historians as crucial to not only understanding early Middle Eastern history but also what we know of early Germanic tribes in Europe. In essence, while the divinity of Jesus is not something that can be proven historically, the historical community is quite sure that a person named Jesus did live in the Middle East two thousand years ago and can look to independent historical sources to strengthen their argument.
