You don't think so...uh?
what i think...

what i think is that Tech is the best rapper in the world.

but if givin a 100 percent in the studio to spit rhymes is your excuse for using playback and saying it's necessary is kinda weak. the worst rappers probably give a 100% in the studio or at least 98%.

Tech is rocknroll, he's the best rapper in the world and i dont see why he would need tape when he's on stage.

of course it's good that the hooks and harmonies and such come from playback.

those videos where you can be sure there's no playback, sound the best to me... they sound raw yet tight. and with kutt's and kaliko's help they could put on a killer show without any playbacked vocals at all.

With the way the mix is with the live vocals vs the instant replay machine you cannot tell there are vocals on the music at all. It shouldn't even be an issue. Notice the only people saying it's wrong are people who have never seen a live show.

That's what I'm saying...the sound varies from venue to venue...but the performance is always 100%

Unlike most, Tech doesn't use an instant replay with vocals on the music as a crutch. I think it just makes him feel comfortable more than anything.

i'd like to hear tech's own words on this cus i dont think this is a "sensitive" issue like it would be to some pop groups, because if someone starts talkin shit at tech he can just say "fuck you, i'll clap my hands with no real beat and rap on top of that, and still put on a better show than any of these fuckin rappers. "

but, my personal opinion is that i'd like to see him perform without that shit. it makes it more unpredictable and adds a little soul/improv to the mix. jimi hendrix once said something along the lines " if you wanna hear it like it's on the record, go home and listen to the fuckin record!"

i just saw system of a down perform at the european empty-V awards, and god did their performance suck and they sang outta key. the drummer was the only one that i could give props to. but, that's what fuckin rock n roll is: sometimes it works, sometimes it won't, but you never fuckin fake it.

[i use the term "rock n roll" a lot . lol. to me that is anyone who has some real type primitive energy in their music, be it ac/dc, tech n9ne, miles davis, slayer, or johny cash. opposite of rock n roll is backstreet boys, MTV RnB, Good Charlotte, Mozart (godly, but hardly "rock n roll" when played by these fuckin indoctrinated classical music nazis) and so on. ]

At the concert up here in SLC, im pretty sure he had playback, but it would have been nearly impossible to understand what he wa saying with all th people up in tha club. I think it adds to clarity, and sound level. Plus you can still here his voice.
