The movie is actually based off a broadway play
The music was also written by the same guy who did the music for West Side story

That was the bloodiest musical I've ever seen. Kind of sick, eating those pies! Definitely not a flick for the kids!

He had a few mannerisms of Scissorhands in the beginning; reminded me just a trace of it; but it got pretty gory pretty quick, so it took on a new meaning.
